Charlie Coyle puts a deflection past Vasilevskiy at the 18:52 mark....1-0 Bruins after 1. Bruins had the better of play and more quality chances. Shots were 15-10 for Boston. Tampa just seemed lost for the most part.

Pastrnak scores on the power play early in the second period. The Lightning woke up, putting 18 shots on goal but Halak has been up to challenge. 2-0 Bruins after 40 minutes. Tampa 0-3 on the power play...Boston 1-3. If it wasn't for great plays by Vasilevskiy, this game would be 4-0 imho.

However, it is only a 2 goal lead....if Tampa comes out with the same intensity as they had in the last half of the second....well, we shall see.

And 3-2 is your final score from Toronto. Boston was the better team....they won the faceoffs...the 50/50 battles..they just anticipated the play. Tamp Bay was just too sloppy..on offence some players were thinking pass first, giving up on open shots.


The Lightning have to play better......or else!! Halak stopped 34 of 36 Tampa Bay shots. Vasilevskiy stopped 28 shots from Boston. Boston's top line...Marchand, Pastrnak, and Bergeron was spot on the entire game.

Edmonton...

Robin Lehner made 26 saves and Vegas scored 3 times in the second period to shutout the Vancouver Canucks 5-0. Reilly Smith, Mark Stone, and Alex Tuch scored in the decisive second period.

Andrew Greene lights the lamp for the Islanders as they take a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes. Islanders out shot the Flyers 15-4. Both teams like to play physical...all Islanders so far.

Still 1-0 Islanders after 2 periods. Flyers had the better of play in the period, outshooting New York 15-6. Varlamov has been up to the task though for the Isles.

4-0 is your final score. Semyon Varlamov stopped all 29 Philly shots. He also becomes the first Islanders goalie to record back-to-back shutouts (Billy Smith from back in the day didn't do it...wow)

Needless to say...the Flyers have some regrouping to do.

Dallas scored two goals on a 5-3 power play in a 4 goal onslaught in the second period, wiping out a 2 goal Colorado advantage, taking a 2-0 series lead with a 5-2 win over the Avalanche. Phillip Grubauer did not play for Colorado due to an injury sustained 3 minutes into the second period of game 1.

Pavelski and Faksa scored for the Stars on the 5-3 power play. Minutes later, Colorado had their own 5-3 advantage but Anton Khubodin held them in check. A shot deflected off the chest of Radulov went by Francouz to make it 3-2, then Lindell pushed a loose puck under Francouz to give Dallas a 2 goal lead. Goal was confirmed after review.

Khubodin made 38 saves in the win.
