Re: Valley (1-0) at Oak Hill (0-1)
It seemed like quite a few people on here were down on both teams going into week 1. Valley won comfortably against NW and Oak Hill gave St. Clairsville all they wanted in very tough circumstances. I can see this being a very good game. I like Valley's play makers but Oak Hill will be physical and try to control the clock. Valley can't turn the ball over like they did last week if they expect to win this won. I'll guess Valley 28-Oak Hill 14 in this one.

Oaks with a big win. They could make a push for 2nd in the league if last week was any indication. 35-14

Re: Valley (1-0) at Oak Hill (0-1)
This one will be interesting. On defense I think Oak Hill has one of the best lines in the area, but their backfield can be a huge liability at times. I haven’t seen Valley this year but I’m guessing the passing game is their biggest strength with the size and ability of their receivers. If Valley can hit the home run pass a couple times this game they will have a good chance at winning. But if Oak Hill doesn’t turn it over on offense I have a hard time seeing Valley stopping them enough to win. I’ll go OH 28 Valley 21
Re: Valley (1-0) at Oak Hill (0-1)
I wish they could make that push, but I think Waverly and Burg are the clear 1-2 teams in the SOC this year.MisterGalliaGuy2016 wrote: Wed Sep 02, 2020 9:10 am Oaks with a big win. They could make a push for 2nd in the league if last week was any indication. 35-14

Re: Valley (1-0) at Oak Hill (0-1)
I picked NW last week over Valley and was dead wrong.
I think Valley wins this game.
I think Valley wins this game.
Re: Valley (1-0) at Oak Hill (0-1)
This is a hard game to predict. If valley cleans up the turnovers it will be hard for anyone to beat them. I look for them to pass more than they did last week. I look for Perkins to have a big week. This will be a close game either way.
Re: Valley (1-0) at Oak Hill (0-1)
I think the key will be up front again, whoever wins the line of scrimmage will win. Valley has a lot of weapons, but if you are getting hit in the backfield every play they can't shine. Same with giving up 8 yards a run. I was impressed with Valley's o-line last week, i dont remember many play giving up penetration and i dont think they had a sack either. Valley's d-line gave up some runs, but also had quite a few negative plays and sacks.
Valley can't afford any injuries with so few people playing and being so young

How did Oak Hill stack up vs their week 1 opponent? How many players do they have? How many playing both ways?

Re: Valley (1-0) at Oak Hill (0-1)
I think Waverly runs away with the league crown. 2nd place is wide open with the Oaks and the Mighty Minford Falcons looking to make a statement. West is young, but very talented. They'll be a problem for the next couple years. Valley always seems to field hard nosed teams. Burg looks to regress from their usual dominance of the area.3sUp wrote: Wed Sep 02, 2020 11:18 amI wish they could make that push, but I think Waverly and Burg are the clear 1-2 teams in the SOC this year.MisterGalliaGuy2016 wrote: Wed Sep 02, 2020 9:10 am Oaks with a big win. The Preview that came out in the local paper, said that Oak Hill only had 30 players, so their numbers must be down as well.lineman7 wrote: Wed Sep 02, 2020 3:46 pm How did Oak Hill stack up vs their week 1 opponent? How many players do they have? How many playing both ways?

Re: Valley (1-0) at Oak Hill (0-1)
Should be a pretty good game I think. Valley cannot turn the ball over like they did last week and expect to win. I don't know anything about the oaks, but they usually have some big strong lineman and some athletes at the skill positions. Any word on any injured players coming into this game? Either team going to be without any key players?

I'm sure tickets will be hard to come by for Indian fans tonight. I heard players were getting 3 each.
I plan on streaming this game and others from the house. It doesn't replace being in the stands but it can make for an enjoyable evening on the deck with a cold beverage or two.

Re: Valley (1-0) at Oak Hill (0-1)
If the Oaks can play like they did at St. Clairsville and they can stop Valley’s passing game they will win by a couple scores. I’m predicting Oak Hill 28, Valley 14.
Re: Valley (1-0) at Oak Hill (0-1)
Valley turned the ball over 4 times last week and still beat a nw pretty comfortably who most was picking to win the game they are a lot better than people realize their starting 11 is really good I’ll take valley 28-oh 20
Re: Valley (1-0) at Oak Hill (0-1)
They beat NW,not exactly a perennial power. That being said, Valley is improving but they really didn't have anywhere to go but up. The jury is still out on them. If they can win tonite tonite then I think they can have a decent season, maybe 4-2. They've got good coaching and good athletes, I'm intrigued to see how much they improve from week 1 to week 2, and I'm equally as intrigued with oak hill. Good luck to both.Izladoom wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2020 4:38 pm Valley turned the ball over 4 times last week and still beat a nw pretty comfortably who most was picking to win the game they are a lot better than people realize their starting 11 is really good I’ll take valley 28-oh 20

I didn't go to the Oak Hill-St Clairsville game, but I was able to hear part of it on the radio. This is not meant to throw any shade toward the Oaks at all, but even though St Clairsville is Division 4, I wonder if possibly we thought that they might have been a little better than what they really were ?
