The Cincinnati Bengals have waived Kicker Tristan Vizcaino on Wednesday morning, as the team made room for defensive back Maurice Smith. The Dolphins had signed Smith as an undrafted free agent in 2017. Smith played in 13 games over two years with the Dolphins. Randy Bullock is now the only kicker on the roster.

Cincinnati Bengals cornerback MacKensie Alexander was taken into custody after his arrest Tuesday, shortly after leaving the teams training camp to be with his family in Florida, where his father is missing. The Collier County Sheriffs database shows that Alexander was charged with one count of battery, although no arrest report had been released as of Wednesday morning. Officials said he is expected to appear in Collier County Circuit Court on Wednesday afternoon. Alexander, according to the NFL Network, allegedly confronted a man who had left behind his 65 year old father, Jean Odney Alexandre, as the two were on a berry picking trip. Alexandre, whose last name has a different spelling than his son's, was reported missing Monday, where he lives with Alexander's mother in Immokalle, Florida.
The Bengals took the practice field Wednesday afternoon just as a Florida judge granted Mackensie Alexander's release from jail. The 26 year old was released on Wednesday evening around 8:00 PM. Alexander posted the $2,000 bail, which allowed him to rejoin authorities who have been searching for his missing father. Alexander allegedly confronted the man on Tuesday night and was arrested and charged with battery. His attorney said, this is a very, very concerned son, he loves his father and that's what this is all about. His whole concern in this matter is the well being of his father.

Newly signed defensive tackle Mike Daniel's is happy to be in Cincinnati. He said that he played seven seasons in Green Bay as a teammate of Aaron Rodgers, and I told Joe Burrow the first time we spoke, that he carried himself with poise very similar to Aaron Rodgers. You're serious, you don't mess around, you also understand that you are carrying the entire organization on your back, and I have nothing but respect for you. You carry yourself like a Pro, you are respectful, yet you command that offense. It seems as if Burrow has gained the respect of a lot of the veteran's on the Bengals, in a very short amount of time.

Cincinnati Bengals Defensive end Carl Lawson is hoping to stay healthy after missing 13 games over the past two seasons. The 25 year old is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Lawson's NFL career got off to a promising start, as he had 8.5 sacks in 16 games as a rookie, unfortunately, injuries have slowed him down, as he tore his right ACL in 2018. Then last year he dealt with a hamstring injury. Lawson is a freak of an athlete and keeps himself in great shape. He could have a great season if he can only stay healthy.

According to the numbers, no NFL team played with fewer tight ends for most of the season than the Bengals. But coach Taylor will tell you that the tight ends have taken this camp by storm, led by 6th year veteran C.J. Uzomah and rising sophomore Drew Sample. Taylor said if you're going to pin down a unit that's had a real strong training camp, the tight ends would be that group.

Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan has had a lot of nice things to say about back-up offensive linemen Billy Price. The last couple days, Price has been working at all three interior line spots. Billy came back a little heavier, a little stronger, stouter and he's had a good camp for himself. He's played a lot of guard. He's played a little more center the last couple day's and he's done a good job. He seems more comfortable. He seems more relaxed in the scheme, and knows what to do. I feel a lot better overall about his execution this camp than I did a year ago.

Between now and 3:PM Saturday more than 800 players are going to be cut in the NFL. On Saturday afternoon each of the 32 NFL teams must have it's active roster trimmed down to 53 players. Former Alabama cornerback Tony Brown might have helped keep his name off this week's transaction report, as he had an excellent performance during the scrimmage on Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium. The Bengals have 9 cornerbacks in training camp, vying for 5 spots on the 53 man roster.

Joe Mixon and Giovanj Bernard are the Bengals main two running backs, but the team has an intriguing battle behind them. Samaje Perine, Trayveon Williams and Jacques Patrick are all competing for spots on the 53 man roster. If the team adopts the same approach this season, one of the three running backs will be out of a job.

The Bengals have made one of their first cuts toward the 53 man roster that they will have to get down too tomorrow afternoon. They have waived linebacker Brady Sheldon, a player out of Ferris State who was originally signed by the Oakland Raiders ( Las Vegas Raiders ) as a college free agent. He had spent time with the Raiders, Browns and the Packers.

As expected, the Cincinnati Bengals flexed their #1 spot on the waiver wire to add to the roster a day removed from cutting to 53 players. The Bengals used their priority to add offensive linemen Shaq Calhoun. In doing so, the Bengals waived Alex Redmond to get back to 53 players on the roster.

Joe Burrow hasn't yet played an NFL down, and he's already a team captain. The team announced seven team captains on Wednesday as voted on by the players. Burrow joins veterans Vonn Bell, Giovani Bernard, Josh Bynes, AJ Green, Kevin Huber and Shawn Williams, all of whom have at least four years of NFL experience.
