Re: Week 4: Wellston @ Athens
Got to pick wellston. They seem to be having a good year.
Operation Iraqi freedom 3. Sadr city/ eastern Baghdad 2005
Re: Week 4: Wellston @ Athens
This will be the key game for Wellston. If they pull it out, should win the TVC. However, they have had probably the easiest start in the TVC with Alex and RV. This game will tell all, as to how good Wellston really is. Should be best game of the week. Go Rockets
Re: Week 4: Wellston @ Athens
After watching the Wellston/Alex live stream, it seems as if wellston is a little salty that they aren’t allowed to do the stream at Athens. Anyone know the reason that they can’t do the stream? I don’t see it being much different than the opponents radio and video crews. Just curious if anyone knows why.

Re: Week 4: Wellston @ Athens
I think it’s because Athens has contracted with Nelsonville TV to offer steaming and they get a cut of the revenue. This helps offset the loss of “gate”/ ticket fees. Most likely Athens couldn’t allow them to offer a free alternative due to a contract they most likely entered. Ole Bub, aka Slippery Jesus is mad because he won’t be able to be front and center for attention.Dundas wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 2:00 pm After watching the Wellston/Alex live stream, it seems as if wellston is a little salty that they aren’t allowed to do the stream at Athens. I think NY is an impressive win but anytime you play someone you haven’t beat since 2008 it is a challenge. This Wellston team won’t be intimidated. If they execute their game plan they will win. Pressure is on Athens, it is a must win for them if they want to stay in TVC race.

Re: Week 4: Wellston @ Athens
Wellston is the better team. Been awhile since a non Athens county team won the TVC Ohio
Re: Week 4: Wellston @ Athens
Not sure it’s a good look for a wellston school board member to publicly threaten repercussions against Athens for not allowing them to live stream. I’d say you are on to something with the Athens live stream though. It’s not like Athens has no alternative and they are still denying wellston to stream. There will be an option. Plus wellston will have their radio there. I just didn’t know if anyone from Athens has the answer to the decision. I have no dog in the fight. Just curious.Scenic Highway wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 2:14 pmI think it’s because Athens has contracted with Nelsonville TV to offer steaming and they get a cut of the revenue. Zero chance. League titles are very important in these old leagues. Win or lose.....they aren’t looking past a familiar fit for a team they hardly know anything about.
Re: Week 4: Wellston @ Athens
Agree 100%. As much as Fort Frye wants to matter, they don’t. Lol Not at least until week 5.

Interesting. Watched Jackson at Logan via Logan livestream and paid $10.....it was hard to follow much of the game but appreciated being able to watch. Watch Jackson at McClain and it was free livestream through McClain....pretty much just watching a game on tv. Got to attend game at Jackson but livestream was free throughJackson and also well done.Dundas wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 3:30 pmNot sure it’s a good look for a wellston school board member to publicly threaten repercussions against Athens for not allowing them to live stream. Re: Week 4: Wellston @ Athens
I was obviously joking.
Re: Week 4: Wellston @ Athens
You are correct, BMG Media did offer to pay both Athens and Nelsonville TV a fee to cover the losses so the game could be shown for free though.Scenic Highway wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 2:14 pmI think it’s because Athens has contracted with Nelsonville TV to offer steaming and they get a cut of the revenue. Yes, I agree that’s it’s a terrible look for the Wellston School Board member and at least there is an option to watch the game.Dundas wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 3:30 pmNot sure it’s a good look for a wellston school board member to publicly threaten repercussions against Athens for not allowing them to live stream. I don’t want to hear the complaints from fans about not paying the $10, because they would spend more than that traveling to the game, tickets and concessions.
Every athletic department will be in the red this year because of the attendance mandates. I do not blame Athens or any school district for trying to supplement this loss of income.

Again Athens and Nelsonville TV were offered money from BMG for access to the game to live stream. The fee would of been for more than they will probably make from the piece of the $10 they are getting.
