Didn’t they lose to Green last year? Sounds like an improvement!

LOL. Keep spinning a 35-0 win to denigrate the coaching staff. Real good look for ND.

I mean they were wanting to play Burg at one point.

And Burg ran and was scared? Totally believable.

ND would’ve had a 3-0 start this year if their original schedule could’ve been played.

They’re mirror images of Notre Dame football this decade, actually! Funny how comparable opponents beget winnable games, as opposed to West and NW.

West wasn’t. NW this year would’ve been winnable - but not winning isn’t a product of coaching when the kids aren’t making the plays and the depth factors in. That’s football, and that’s life.

I'm about 99.99% sure he didn't.
He did apply....but defend him all you want....how do you defend 0-12? Please explain. 31 players, not a numbers issue. Defend him!
I'm not defending him. Just saying I'm 99.99% sure he did not apply. When I'm at Northwest for practice in the morning I will ask.
Still 99.99% sure? Obviously you are part of the ND program to have access to the coach in the morning of a game. Keep defending a losing coaching staff of a losing program. Green and East will be their only wins. Let’s celebrate 2-4 because it’s better than 0-10!!! Makes sense to me!

For anyone to say that Notre Dame hasn’t had success in the past 20 years is stating a fallacy. Yes, Notre Dame isn’t as good as they were in the 1950’s-1990’s but you also have to take a look at Socioeconomics of Portsmouth and Scioto County. Since 2000, Portsmouth has probably lost at least 2,000 people. It’ll drop to less than 20,000 as a city on this census for the first time since 1900. Scioto County has also had a major loss of industry, and a new highway that completely by-passes Portsmouth. Scioto County from 1980 to 2010 had a 7,000 person loss. When the census comes out for 2020, it may be a 10,000 person loss in 40 years. That’s a lot of people to lose in an already impoverished part of the state. Is Bob Ashley on the same level as an Ed Miller? No, but he does well for what he has to work with. If I had a child growing up in Scioto County, and they were good at football, I would probably make sure that they were enrolled at Wheelersburg. That’s just stating facts. If someone truly has an issue with him being the coach, put your resume in. I always see three things that an Ashley coached team has:
1. Fairly well disciplined on both sides of the ball.
2. A respect for their opponent/classy before, during, and after the game.
3. They look prepared for every game.

A very wise coach once told me, “It’s not about the X’s and O’s, it’s about the Jimmy’s and Joe’s.”

Are you a parent? From a totally objective view... who stays anywhere after going 0-10. That is not the reality of coaching high school football.

Must be a parent and friend or coach... I just get to watch via Facebook this year but I can predict 90% of the plays called. Great job...go 2-6 this year AND yes that’s better that 0-10..::still pitiful!!! But no changes!!

Actually, plenty of coaches keep their jobs after 0-10. I know of a coach that went 0-20 and, come year three, he went 7-3! He ended up taking a new job and the program ended up folding three years after he left. A school that reminds me of Notre Dame, come to think of it.

Further, who the heck do you think is going to want to take a Notre Dame vacancy in 2021 if they read this train wreck? Brian Kelly?

Please explain who ND would’ve beaten last year under a different staff. I’ll wait!
