2020 Wellston 6 - 28 Fort Frye
Re: WK 5: Fort Frye (4-0) @ Wellston (3-1)
It’s one thing to talk about stopping their scheme, it’s another thing entirely to actually do it. Very hard offense to get ready for in under a week because of how well they execute. They key to stopping them is to make them play behind the sticks. Again, easier said than done.

Wellston is a good team they have nice weapons. They could win this game. I just think it’s funny that some people think they are the favorite.
Re: WK 5: Fort Frye (4-0) @ Wellston (3-1)
Fort Frye has been very basic with the playbook so far. I think they'll be reaching deeper this week.
Re: WK 5: Fort Frye (4-0) @ Wellston (3-1)
This is exactly correct. Making ff play behind the sticks is the key to beating them. When coach huck gets into a playcalling rhythm and ff goes 6yd and 5 yd and 6yd each play it's really hard to get them off the field. Versus williamstown they finally cut out the penalties and red zone turnovers. The line completely manhandled williamstown on both sides of the ball. Warren knows better than anyone when ff starts grinding out first downs they hard to stop.beg003 wrote: Mon Sep 21, 2020 9:52 am It’s one thing to talk about stopping their scheme, it’s another thing entirely to actually do it. Very true. When we made you play behind the sticks and throw, your offense took a sharp drop off in productivity.Ff3233 wrote: Mon Sep 21, 2020 1:40 pmThis is exactly correct. Obviously you will never see anyone as the favorite when they play FF. I hope Wellston puts a beating on FF this week so we don’t have to hear about the almighty streak of regular season games that Fort has won any longer. Any chance you might be able to get me a ticket so I can witness it?EasternDspy wrote: Mon Sep 21, 2020 12:12 pm Wellston is a good team they have nice weapons. They could win this game. That’s not true at all but I mean Coach Huck has earned the benefit of doubt with me.

Calpreps is not a Cadet fan and has Fort Frye as a 2 TD Favorite. Nobody's forcing you to read our threads.Bulldog84 wrote: Mon Sep 21, 2020 2:07 pmObviously you will never see anyone as the favorite when they play FF. That said, ED'spy has a tendency to try to win the game by argument three days before kickoff. Like, one week, the other team is going to read the thread and go "There's no point showing up. We lost the seops thread by 100."
If you pick Wellston, I am not saying it's unreasonable. I want to know why. Are they great? Do you just want to see Fort Frye lose? I like to know what you're thinking. Maybe you know something we don't.
Re: WK 5: Fort Frye (4-0) @ Wellston (3-1)
No reason to get all mad because a ff fan on here shows alot of confidence and likes to post statistics. Wellston should put a beating on ff just based purely on size of schools but more than likely that won't happen. Assuming you're an athens fan, i can understand why you'd be a little testy when teams like waterford and ff tend to beat tvc teams in most sports. Grant it, Trimble has a great football program, but other than that who or what does the tvc have to hang their hat on? Not saying ff will win friday, because wellston is very solid. But, and i say but, if ff wins you may have to accept the win streak and move on to another threadBulldog84 wrote: Mon Sep 21, 2020 2:07 pmObviously you will never see anyone as the favorite when they play FF. Re: WK 5: Fort Frye (4-0) @ Wellston (3-1)
Ff definitely isn't a one dimensional football team, but like any other team the passing game works better with the threat of run based on down and distance. Ellis is a very capable qb, and when the offense gets it going they are tough to stopbeg003 wrote: Mon Sep 21, 2020 1:43 pmVery true. Re: WK 5: Fort Frye (4-0) @ Wellston (3-1)
Ellis was 11/12 passing to weeks ago and last week he had 3 Td passes. I’m sure if Wellston was on a 31 game reg season win streak they’d let ppl know. I’m just glad this week is a little more interesting.

Again, I’m pulling for Wellston! Don’t care about Fort win streak, it’s means nothing come Friday night

Re: WK 5: Fort Frye (4-0) @ Wellston (3-1)
I think Fort Frye would handle Nelsonville easily... What does this even mean it’s a terrible way to compare teams. Last season Fort scored 69 on Nelsonville.
