1 win this year. 5-6 wins over the last 4 years. I would not call that a stellar record and would not think a coach would keep their job with that record. Always an excuse. Can’t win a close game. It’s either a blow out one way or another or a loss. Players win the first half coaching wins the second! He doesn’t even feel obligated to call the radio show on Saturday. I can’t prove this but I heard he moved to the press box because he doesn’t like the fans yelling at him. It’s time for a change. Then again a new coach might go 2-10 or even 0-10, that would be horrible. Last thing then I’m done with this. People say ND just doesn’t have the talent, maybe that’s why he’s a good fit, same reason.

This topic has gone on far to long and is quite frankly pointless, it's about time for mods to jump in and end this.

Because you don’t agree with it? Isn’t this America? No lies, just questions and comments. It’s your choice not to read them and my choice to express my thoughts.

If that staff stayed on after an 0-10 year last year, how can ND justify getting rid of them now after winning 2 games under these circumstances? Sounds like wishful thinking as Ashley good there until he decides he no longer wants to coach*
I wonder what expectations are for football at ND? None? Just field a team?
With their enrollment numbers, basically, yeah. ND in same boat as Green, East, Manchester, etc. but don’t want to accept it. Aim to make playoffs about once every 5 years or so and just try to keep program alive as long as you can. Welcome to small school football in 2020 and beyond*

When was the last time ND made the playoffs? Or won the SOC? Green and East both recently made the playoff. If that’s small school football, where’s ND’s appearances? I just don’t feel the love for a losing coach.
Honest question. If you can’t do any worse, why not make a change and see if someone else could win?

Last playoff appearance was 2013 I believe they went 8-3 that year

Yeah, well, Notre Dame’s not a powerhouse school in any sense or interpretation of the term. Except in girls basketball. And they have good academics.

BTW, still care to challenge my comment on what ND’s tuition is?
What is it?

You are laughable. What are you talking about? Whatever it is isn’t enough because that can not afford a mediocre football coach. A good coach doesn’t always blame players for losses and coaches take credit for wins. Kids are tired in the second half? Conditioning is a part of coaching last I checked.

They need to raise tuition so they afford a better coach.

I just wasted an hour reading this thread to conclude You believe it's all the coaches fault, the record speaks for itself, right?, I see things like this,, the coaches care, the coaches want to win, the boys want to win, the parents want to win, the school wants them to win.
The team is playing more competitive, I like the direction of the coaches, team and program. HS school football is a small part in the big picture, I believe small schools could use more support and less arm chair qb'ing.

This team is a lot better than last years team. This team is playing a much softer schedule this year. This team will be lucky to get 2 wins against 2 very struggling programs. This team should be in contention for a SOC title. This team is deep at running back. This coach just tried to win in overtime by passing the ball. I do not know what I am missing. Any place else, I would be the nicest person in the thread because people would be going nuts over these losses.

Apply for the job if you know exactly how to coach the team.

He can’t, he’s not allowed within 300 yards of a school.

I don’t think so. I had to find an Eastern page that had it.
