CHCA is always a threat. Don’t count them out. I don’t think any D5 can beat us but it wouldn’t surprise me for them to make it there
They lost by 28 to a team in their own region, one who probably has the best running back in all of Ohio.
We have been trying to get Mentor on our schedule (which is one of the best teams in all of Ohio) but they have no real incentive to play us. If they win it’s “so what you beat a D5 team” and if they lose it wouldn’t look good. I’d love to see it happen even though our streak would be in jeopardy but I don’t think it will. We did get Shaker Heights and Solon on there this year
Mentor? You've lost your mind

Go big or go home, right? We’re not afraid to play anyone and while there is the possibility we lose, it would still be fun and interesting just to see how we would fair vs Goliath. It’s been in the works but hasn’t happened so we must not be too much of a pushover or it would be an easy win and they’d jump right on it, right? I’m not by any means saying we would win it but it would be the biggest game we’ve ever played by far. We don’t worry about our winning streak as long as we get a title. Bring them on!

I’ve seen both ironton and Kirtland this season. Looking forward to a great game between them. Carrico is a monster but I like Kirtland. They have two great backs, but there qb is the difference for me that kid is amazing. He puts you to sleep with dose after dose of those backs then he pulls it and always a big play. Very accurate in the pass game as well. I think d7 and d6 will be uneventful this year. D4 is down imo d5 will be the best final if these two make it unscathed.

D7 Maria Stein. D6 Coldwater. It would surprise me very much if either of those 2 didn’t win a state title. That MAC is a brutal conference. Once they come outside of it in the playoffs, it’s easier than what they play all year long. That’s why I said I like us being in D5. Not knocking Ironton, I’m sure they are favored to get back there just like us but I’d rather play them as to play Coldwater if we were in D6. Yes we love to run and pass when least expected. No one last year expected the pass first possession that we had

No one on here would be surprised to see a MAC team win a State title as they've done consistently for 30 years. Your team is on a good 10 year run right now and we all know that also. Be happy while it lasts but please take your ball and go home to "Yappi" where 90% of the posters also believe SEO football is inferior so you can do "belly bumps" with them.

Yeah well that’s been our hump to get over a few times as well, Coldwater and Maria Stein Marion Local.

I jumped over to Yappi to see what all your fuss was about. Doesn’t look like anyone thinks you’re a joke or talks down upon you like you said. Heck it’s one of our guys and a MAC guy talking good about you :)

Call troll all you want. Some do just the way your fans do. You telling me some of you Ironton fans don’t talk crap? I was going to comment a month ago after you Ironton fans were talking crap but refrained. We up north have all heard we won because of the refs etc. Fact of the matter is southeastern Ohio football is weak. Probably the weakest in the state. Northeast and out west is where the legit teams are. Play in the CVC or the MAC and let’s see how you do all year. What a fitting first name for our coach. Sometimes it takes a Tiger to tame a Tiger and also very fitting that they don’t get together in packs very often but when they do it’s called a streak. Well we don’t play often but if we do our “streak” will still be alive and we will claim #6.
I never heard a single Ironton fan say anything negative about the officiating in this game or any derogative statements about Kirtland. All I talked to felt we just played a better team. Now, that doesn't take anything away from The Tigers. They were a great team last year and many other years they'd won it all. They played you guys tough and had nothing to hide their heads about. We were very proud of them!

You just don't seem you're a typical fan of Kirtland's. They gave us the impression they were pretty classy. You break that mold somewhat?

At this point my biggest surprise would be if 80 didn’t live within 15 miles of ironton or was a former logan assistant

Why do we need to be better than last year? We won didn’t we? You guys had a 10 game winning streak averaging 38.7 ppg and we held you to 7. You guys had like 47 yards rushing. We got what it takes to slow you down no doubt and we proved that. Ironton did it all year long last year just as they are this year but when they ran into a team that didn’t bend they had no answer for it. Back to back UNDEFEATED state champions, 35 game win streak and we need to be better? That statement is complete ignorance as if we need to be better to beat you because you won lol

Ok maybe they are better. Doesn’t mean we need to be because we already were. I really hope this matchup happens as I think it would be the best matchup in D5. Barring any major upset of either team, there is no reason to think it will not

This “troll” hopes this game happens and I don’t gotta come here to say how good Kirtland is. We all know they are just as we all know Ironton is. Ironton is without a doubt a great football team. Call troll all you want but I’m hoping for this matchup and I will be on here win or lose. I like a good hard nosed slobber knocker football game and I think this will be a great defensive matchup for both sides. Just as last year, I don’t see either one scoring the 40-50+ that they are accustomed to. Good luck on getting there. As I said earlier, barring a major upset or beating themselves, there is no reason why you shouldn’t
