Nah...I am actually bored today and have decided to utilize you as a form of entertainment. You are always good for a meaningless laugh and you have served my purpose quite well. However, you are absolutely correct with your assessment of my respect for Coach Tressel. You can only imagine what loyalty and respect for a team and coach may be like as you give no indication of knowing the meaning. Hell, without OSU you would have no purpose to even respond or post on here any longer. In reality, you are more devoted to Coach Tressel that you may realize. You appear to have an obsession to discuss the man regardless what the topic is actually about. You even give him cute nick-names and show signs of being overwhelmed with frustration because he is able to win on a regular basis playing a form of football that you have decided is not effective. His success completely dominates your self proclaimed expertise and knowledge of the game and you must learn to cope with this before it takes complete control of you. You revert to supporting a conference and I have remained unwavering and steadfast in supporting the best program in all of college football. Stop your refusal to accept Coach Tressel as a class act and just accept his system. It may not be liked by all of the OSU fans, but it has certainly produced some staggering results. The General wrote:And good luck to you General Hoggy on your unwavering love for the VestAnd I imagine that your scarlet goggles go well with your attire and your face when you read my posts....Geez...get to you dont I?...

And yes to be quite honest, Tessel's offensive style is boring at times and has me wanting to bang my head off a wall at times with some of the calls I have seen, but look at his win/loss column, you cant argue the facts when they're laid right in front of your eyes.
So can wee all just agree to disagree and just....get along??

The arrogance, the hype, the lack of realism, and the fuzzy, loving feelings that OSU homers have for the Vest and the football played there almost makes it impossible for me to stay on here...Well,what the hell...I will stay on until after Bowl season...And I get along with everyone on this site and I am assured that they like me and that is really important to me...

no arrognce or lac of rality from this Buckeye fan, I nvder thump my chest and claim that The Buckeyes are the best team in the land, butyear in and year out whether you like it or not, they ARE ONE of the best. Just because they aren't flashy and winnig with style does not mean they are nbot very solid team. And I am not one that is going to get on here now and say The Buckeyes are a dominant team this year, theyre from it. They have flaws and weaknesses, just like the two teams in the BCS Title game have their flaws. The General wrote:The arrogance, the hype, the lack of realism, and the fuzzy, loving feelings that OSU homers have for the Vest and the football played there almost makes it impossible for me to stay on here...Well,what the hell...I will stay on until after Bowl season...And I get along with everyone on this site and I am assured that they like me and that is really important to me...
Ando be honst I'm nervous as $hit abot us playing the Razorbacks, I have thought all year long they're a darn good team. Kniles Davis running the ball AND Mallet throwing the ball on our depleted secondary can make us Buckeye fans toss and turn at night. I also know that if they stumble to another SEC team, well don't want to even think about it. :122248 But I am very confident in this team. I believe Tress will surprise some folks in this game, I just have a feeling. Like I said they might not be a pretty finesse team, but look they're overall success in the past 10 years, winning is winning. Bottom Line.
Re: Sugar Bowl: OSU vs Arkansas
Back to the topic and maybe we can get some decent conversation about the game. I promise to ignore General Troll and keep the conversation focused on the game.
I will be rooting for the Buckeyes to get the victory, but by no means will this be an easy task. The Buckeyes will be making its eighth appearance in a BCS bowl in the past nine seasons, but they have been shutout against teams from the SEC. This game against Arkansas gives the Buckeyes a chance to win a big game for Coach Tressel and snap the streak against the SEC. “IF†the Buckeyes come away with the victory, will it be enough to silent the haters and trolls such as the General? Probably not, but I sure would hate to listen to these ass clowns gloat for another year.
Arkansas brings an impressive resume to the table by going 10-2 in the SEC and we all know that this is no easy feat. Arkansas’s only losses were to Auburn and Alabama and this is the program’s first ever BCS bowl game. This meeting will be the first between the two schools and in my opinion will be one of the better bowl games to watch.
The Razorbacks are third in the nation with an average of 338.4 passing yards per contest and during the six-game winning streak; they averaged 42.5 points per game. Former Michigan player, Mallett has completed 242 of 364 passes for 3,592 yards and 30 touchdowns. Hopefully the Buckeye defense can get to him early and make him feel like he is back in Ann Arbor. He can sling the ball to many different receivers and the offense has a + 1,000 yard rusher as well. This will definitely be a test for the OSU defense and if the secondary isn’t somewhat healed up, it could be a long night for us Buckeye faithful.
The major factor will be if the defense comes to play. Ohio State’s defense perennially ranks in the Top 5 of the country. This season, the Buckeyes are third in scoring defense (13.3 points per game), second in total defense (250.3 YPG) fourth in rushing defense (94.0 YPG) and fourth in passing defense (156.3 YPG). Mallett threw 30 touchdown passes this season. Ohio State has allowed only 29 touchdown passes over the last three seasons. However, he did throw 11 interceptions this season, and I am hoping that the Buckeyes defense, averaging 2.4 turnovers per game, can come up with a couple interceptions.
I am concerned about our offense though. If the Buckeyes get behind early, do they have the type of offense that can rally from behind...doubtful, but if Pryor has another performance like he did last year during the Rose Bowl, OSU has a fighting chance in this one.
Go Buckeyes……..O-H

I can't believe the lack of interest being shown for this game. Is it too far away to get fired up for or are several avoiding comments in order to reduce the chance of eating some crow?

Very true, maybe some of these SE Ohio bandwagon fans for the SEC can provide us with enough entertainment until the game. Hell, I am bored enough to even entertain some Big East supporters as well.

Everytime I see a post by The General I can't help but think of this little guy.

Granted that I am out of state without access to Ohio broadcast media, but judging from the various internet sports and newspaper sites out of the Buckeye state, I get the feeling there is a lack of say at least excitement about the Sugar Bowl. Ho hum -- another BCS berth, Big Ten co-championship, ten plus win season. Another profitable season for OSU Football Inc. under CEO Coach Tressell. Maybe this why I pick Arkansas to win. Lack of passsion displayed by the Buckeyes under JT's corporate football system.

Three reasons to watch: 1) It's the SEC vs. Big Ten game of the year. Ohio State will try to exorcise its SEC demons, while Arkansas will take a huge step forward with a win. 2) Terrelle Pryor vs. Ryan Mallett. There might not be a better quarterback matchup this bowl season. 3) Arkansas is No. 3 in the nation in passing offense, Ohio State is No. 2 in the nation in total defense and No. 4 against the pass.
Why you should spend your time roasting chestnuts: Arkansas has lost 12 of its past 15 bowl games. It won last year, but it took overtime to get by East Carolina. Ohio State is 0-9 vs. the SEC in bowls.
Three names to drop: 1) CB Chimdi Chekwa, Ohio State. 2) RB Knile Davis, Arkansas. 3) DE Cameron Heyward, Ohio State.
Gut-reaction pick: Ohio State 31, Arkansas 27

Re: Sugar Bowl: OSU vs Arkansas
as far as attention for this game-- Arkansas is no traditional SEC power and just a good team that was fortunate enough to land a spot in this game. The Bucks better get their 1st SEC win this time around, next time it might be one of the big boys. MD
Re: Sugar Bowl: OSU vs Arkansas
I am also a little disturbed by what seems to be an increase in dumb plays on the field. Posey's endzone dive for example. It will take the Bucks best effort and I hope they play focused.gahs4ever wrote:And as a Buckeye fan, I must admit that recent comments Pryor has made publicly critical of the way he sees things are more than a little disturbing.
