The Houston Texans have fired head coach and general manager Bill O'Brien. Defensive Coordinator Romeo Crennel will replace O'Brien as interim head coach. After Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings, the Texans are 0-4 a season after winning the AFC South. The disappointing start arrives after a series of high-profile personnel moves, highlighted by the trade of All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals. O'Brien spearheaded the controversial roster decisions in his capacity as general manager, and failed to translate them into on-field success as head coach. O'Brien cited Hopkins desire for a pay raise as his rational for trading him in his prime, amid reports that the two did not have a good personal relationship. I'm pretty sure that O'Brien is the guy that stepped into the mess at Penn State a few years ago as head coach, after the Joe Paterno-Jerry Sandusky situation.

Washington Football Team coach Ron Rivera however stood by his QB, telling Haskins that he was behind him, and was going to stick with him. Rivera also told him that there will be fans calling for him to be benched, but that he (Haskins) has to ignore those distractions. Let's hope this is not that dreaded kiss of death support that a player usually hears, prior to eventually being replaced, especially if the team continues to lose.
Wow! Talk about a quick change of mind. From total support on Sunday, to that dreaded kiss of death a few hours later. First off I'm not saying that the coach might be a little wishy washy in what he said, that he was probably told after the fact that there probably needs to be a change made. Rivera now says that the other players on Washington's roster "deserve better" and admitted there is a "cutoff point' with Haskins. When questioned about what it would take for him to bench Haskins, he declined comment. I think that there very little doubt, that if Alex Smith was healthy, that he would probably be the starting QB. First off I'm not saying that Haskins deserves to be the starter, he played terrible yesterday, and really in his limited time as a starter last year, he didn't really play that well either. He probably needs to sit a year or so behind an established starter, which I'm not sure that Washington has. Washington, like a few other teams, has quite a few problems besides just at QB. I was never that convinced even in training camp this year, that Rivers was that sold on Haskins as being his starting QB, and then to hear him saying after the game what he said was a little surprising.
Haskins apparently played the whole game for the Skins against the Ravens, going 32-45 for 314 yards with no touchdowns or.interceptions. He had one rushing td. No mistakes but not good enough in a 31-17 loss.
Dwayne Haskins, the franchise's first round pick in the NFL's 2019 draft, is out after starting the first four games during a 1-3 start. Replacing him will be Kyle Allen, whom the ream acquired via trade from the Carolina Panthers in the offseason. Apparently, what coach Ron Rivera saw in Haskins against the Baltimore Ravens wasn't enough for Haskins to keep his job. Haskins threw for a career high 314 yards in the loss, but he was sacked three times for 40 yards, and struggled on deep passes until late in the game. He also ran for a 1-yard score once the game was already decided. I know that Haskins has not played that well, but I'll also add that the Washington Football team is a dumpster fire just waiting to happen. What's funny also is the fact that those two things usually do go hand in hand, trying to throw deep passes, and then getting sacked. Haskins most certainly might not be the answer for the Washington football team, matter of fact a fresh start with another team would probably be the best thing to have happen. If Aaron Rodgers was the QB for the Washington Football team, I have my doubt's that they could beat the Baltimore Ravens.

Wisconsin's Senior QB Jack Coan is out indefinitely after having surgery on his right foot. School officials announced Tuesday that Coan had undergone surgery earlier in the day. Coan injured the foot in practice Saturday. Badger coach Paul Chryst said Monday it was a non-contact injury that occurred as the senior was dropping back to pass. Coan's surgery probably means that redshirt freshman Grahaam Mertz is probably the most likely candidate to open the season as the starting QB. I will add that at one point, the Buckeyes were recruiting Mertz, and were even the favorite to get a commitment from him.

Agreed the Skin's organization is a dumpster fire. Haskins is a thrower and not a quarterback.. He would have been better served staying another year at Ohio State. To me the troubling thing about Haskins is that he just seems nonchallant on the field, shows little leadership. Of course he has got his payday in the bank, so I do not think.he will be losing sleep over being benched.

No-17 LSU will travel to Missouri's home stadium for a late morning kickoff on Saturday, instead of hosting the game at night as originally scheduled because of Hurricane Delta's expected landfall in or near Louisiana later this week. The Southeastern Conference announced the move on Wednesday, saying that moving the game was in the best interest of safety for Louisiana. The game will be played at 11 A.M. CDT in Columbia, Missouri, after previously being scheduled for Saturday night in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Last week, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey sent a memo to the leagues head coaches and athletic directors as a reminder about requirements for face masks and face coverings. Sankey followed that up with another memo this week. This time, the commissioner outlined "fines and possible suspensions" for those who fail to comply with the conference protocols. In the memo, Sankey again urged them not to "relax" in their adherence to the protocols because of a few weeks of success. Programs that do not adhere to the conference protocols could see their share of conference revenue reduced by $100,000. The SEC also could impose suspensions.

Defensive End Jonathon Cooper will become the first Ohio State player ever to wear No-0. In a new Ohio State tradition, Cooper has been presented with the No-0 jersey, which the Buckeyes are calling the Block 0 Jersey, and will now be presented to one Ohio State player each year in honor of Buckeye great Bill Willis. Cooper said, this honor stands out from the rest. Being a captain, all the great things that have happened here at Ohio State, this one stands out a lot more to me personally. I will wear No-0 because it's not about me. No one understood why I wore No-18, it's because my birthday is January 8th. When I wear that Block-0, it will be in honor of a great Ohio State Buckeye, and it will represent Ohio State University and all my teammates and coaches. I know I have to play at my very best and I wouldn't want it any other way.

If the Washington Football team wants to trade Dwayne Haskins, it has two-and -a-half to do so. October 29th is the trade deadline, and there are strong expectations that they intend to do so. Last Sunday, Haskins started for the Washington Football team and threw for 300 plus yards for the first time in his Pro career. This Sunday, Haskins is the third string QB, and is not at FedEx Field because of a reported stomach virus, and the subject of rapidly building trade rumors. Before the season, Haskins was named a captain and thought to be poised for a major jump in production under center. Then, in Washington's opener, Haskins was lauded for delivering a halftime speech that helped lift the Washington team to victory. Those are all distant memories now, however, even though they occurred just a handful of days ago.

Former Ohio State wide receiver Michael Thomas has been ruled out of Monday's game against the Los Angles Chargers. The New Orleans Saints says it's not because of the lingering ankle injury that's kept him sidelined since Week-2. The Saints announced Sunday that he will sit because of disciplinary reasons. There have been reports that Thomas had an altercation with a teammate at practice over the weekend. Another source reported that he punched safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, that the two have had a history together and got into a fight last season. The Saints have struggled to make downfield plays this season in Thomas's absence. Thomas is coming off a historic season that saw him catch an NFL record 149 passes for 1,725 yards and 9 touchdowns, en route to being named The NFL Offensive Player of the year.

Joe Morgan, the Hall of Famer who is considered one of the best second basemen of all-time has passed away at the age of 77. Morgan had a 22 year career and played for five different teams, but he's primarily known as one of the major drivers of the Cincinnati Reds Big Red Machine in the 1970's. He spent 8 seasons with the Reds, going to the playoffs 5 times and winning the World Series twice.

Former Ohio State wide receiver Austin Mack has officially been promoted to the New York Giants active roster. The Giants signed Mack to their 53-man roster on Tuesday, making him the 10th member of the 2019 buckeyes to play in the NFL this year. Now that the Giants have cleared a full time spot for Mack on their roster, hopefully that indicates that they're interested in keeping him around, and finding a role for him on game day. He could make his NFL debut on Sunday, when the Giants are scheduled to host the Washington Football Team.

Apparently Dwayne Haskins brought his benching upon himself by gloating over his stats in his last start which rubbed not only management wrong but also his teammates. That and apparently no other teams have expressed interest in trading for him. .The golden armed Buckeye may soon be out of the league altogether. Apparently our scarlet and gray glasses hid the fact that Haskins is a spoiled brat.

Well he we go, it's just been reported that Nick Saban has tested positive for Covid-19 today, and has left the facility immediately. This probably doesn't bode well for the big game with Georgia this weekend.
