I think it's safe to say that the guys involved in "tatoo gate" are forgiven by buckeye nation for the moment.
They'll be happy to play in the R & L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.farmer wrote:I think Mallett kicked him while both of them were on the ground. Then Heyward pushed him. The camera angle was not good but something happened that upset both players. Later Mallett was upset when Heyward sacked him.FIDO wrote:Heyward looked like he got dinged..arm/hand
The Buckeyes are playing well. They got some help with some dropped balls by Arkansas WR's. The Arkansas WR's also seem to be running their mouths some instead of catching the ball.
Hey Boilermaker maybe you can put in a bid for the Team Up North to win a Sugar Bowl Game since that will be the only way they will get there in the next few years.

The TATOOD 5 came up big tonight. I forgive you TP, but truthfully I wasnt made at you anyway. Besides that I won a few bucks on the game can I buy your MVP trophy? Just kidding!
Re: Sugar Bowl: OSU vs Arkansas
OSU beat a good Arkansas team. OSU played very good in the first half and did not get behind early like it has in some of the BCS games in the past. As a defense even though they gave up some points in the second half they were very beat up. As well as players getting cramps and injuries. They won it with their depth on defense. Also with Heywood being able to miss being injured bad with all the cheap shots Arkansas was giving him because they could not block him. The cut block shown was just one of many plays against Heyward. Heyward and the other defensive linemen were able to put pressure on Mallett was a major key to victory. This is a good win for OSU.

I guess a win over the SEC is more important than showing the nation that the coach is running the team and not the players,,,,way to be a man Tressel.

Re: Sugar Bowl: OSU vs Arkansas
I am very happy with the OSU win. Our offense and defense looked like a million bucks the first half.
What I dont understand, is this:
1.) Offensive playcalling the second half was atrocious. I loved Tress going for it on 4th down, and it was the right call. Boom just didnt secure the football. But Tress again got away from what exploited Arkansas defense the first half. With the first down playcalling, we would have been better off starting each drive 2nd and 10. We lost yardage on nearly every first down run up the middle the second half.
2.) When we got pressure on Mallet, he choked. He threw the ball all over the place. 2 passes into OSU DB's hands that they dropped the first half, and countless hurried throws in the ground the first half. Not to mention the sacks. When OSU blitzed, bad things happened for Arkansas. Yet, the entire second half, we only rushed our 4 down linemen. I understand we have a young group of DB's, but you cant give a QB like Mallet all day to throw or coverage is going to get broken and someone IS going to get open. Finally we sent Homan on a middle LB blitz and Mallet throws a pick to end the game.
I am a OSU fan through and through. But am I missing something? This isnt rocket science!

Re: Sugar Bowl: OSU vs Arkansas
We all know that OSU was just lucky!
I mean shoot, if they hadn't scored more points than Arkansas, Arkansas would have won......The D line was just lucky all night, Boom wasn't really that good, The Razorbacks let OSU score cause they felt like it.
On a serious note:
anyone notice how TP kinda dodged the question about if he really is comming back next year? That wasn't exactly a yes.
Great win Buckeyes!!!

Re: Sugar Bowl: OSU vs Arkansas
24 seniors. 24 guys that gave put their blood, sweat, and tears, into the program for 4 years. 24 guys who have seen the Buckeyes win 4 conference titles, but lose a National title to LSU, and a heart breaker to Texas. 24 senior who, to a man, said they wanted these guys on the field with them even though they made mistakes 2 years ago.2trap_4ever wrote:I guess a win over the SEC is more important than showing the nation that the coach is running the team and not the players,,,,way to be a man Tressel.
It was for these 24 men, names like Sanzenbacher, Heyward, Boren, Homan, Rolle, Checkwa, these 24 seniors, 24 leaders, 24 Buckeyes, that Tressel allowed the 5 guys to play.
The NCAA said it was perfectly fine for them to play, maybe Tress looks a little better to some if he makes a stand. But if he does, he looks these 24 guys in the eye and says that PR is more important than giving you 24 leaders something that no OSU senior has ever had!
Congrats to the 24 seniors that took this team from a team with the stigma of 3 straight loses in BCS games, to a team that has beaten 2 great offensive teams in bowl games in the
center of their conference!
Now, it's time to figure out what is going to happen next year, and how to keep the Buckeyes on top!!!
Go Bucks!
Re: Sugar Bowl: OSU vs Arkansas
Right on SVDUB,The mighty ESPN will still find some way to fudge the numbers.Looked like a pretty unified team to me.Way to go BUCKS.

Re: Sugar Bowl: OSU vs Arkansas
When I'm wrong, I admit it. Congrats to the Bucks on their 1st win in a bowl game over the SEC. Tress pulled a play calling 180 in the first half (I heard him telling Bollman... Look Jim, just go ahead and sit this one out, I'll get back to you after halftime). The O-line blocked for the first time in a decade. HOWEVER, watching the second half was like getting a root canal without pain killers. OSU did everything but punt on first down trying to give the game away. The Hogs didn't want it. Adams drops 3 TD passes in the first half, the blocked punt is pounced on rather than scooped up for an easy TD with less than 2 min to go then the int to end it. The D played well for 4 qtrs. and the O played well for 2.5 qtrs. It's a win.

WOW, what a game! I didn't get to bed until 2:30am. I watched the post game and Mark May eat crow. After 10 years on the job, look what Tressel has done with his era: 6 straight Big Ten Championships, 9 wins over "that team up north", 6 BCS bowl games, won against the SEC, 1 National Championship and play for two others. Record of 102, thats ten wins a year! How can anyone argue against him?
Also, flipped over during time-outs and watched the basketball team pull out a win against Iowa to stay undefeated and ranked #2. What a great start to the New Year for Buckeye Nation!
FYI, I counted the senior starters for the Sugar bowl and seen three on Offense (2-OL and WR) and 7 on defense. If all Jr come back, Off will be loaded again regardless of suspensions. GO BUCKS!

Cam Heyward is A MAN!!!
And Dane Sanzenbacher cemented himself as one of my all time favorite Buckeyes!
Tressel made the Arkansas D-Coordinator's head spin in the first half!!!
Then made us all insane during the second!
If Michigan was watching, they learned that young guys in the secondary can play and win!!!
And best of all, the Buckeye faithful in attendance booed Mark May to the point that he could barely talk!!!

Great win for the buckeyes and a great season! Really glad to see them get the big win over the sec and win their 2nd straight bcs game over a top notch opponent.
I give the 5 players alot of credit for how well they stepped up and played and helped their team despite all the negative attention leading to the game. It was a great send off for all the seniors and a step toward gaining respect from buckeye nation
I give alot of praise and respect to Pryor for his national apology to buckeye nation after the game for his wrong doing. It takes alot to stand up in front of thousands and millions of people watching and admit your wrong and tell the people you hurt and let down that you are sorry. He needed to say that and buckeye nation needed to hear it! Go Buckeyes!
