This game is going to be a doozy.
It's difficult to beat any team twice in one season, but especially Coal Grove. The last game, Fairland jumped out early and looked to be cruising, but needed a goal line stand to hang on and win. I don't know that that will work twice. If they want to win, they will have to play solid ball all 4 quarters.

Hope field is in better shape, and a better crew throwing flags. N y. Got robbed tonight
Re: RD 4: Coal Grove (6-2) @ Fairland (7-1)
Coal Grove will be ready. Everyone is healthy, and this team has their confidence level high right now.
Last two games have been decided in the last 30 seconds with go ahead touchdowns.
The offense is just clicking. The backs are running hard, the offensive line is creating opportunities.
This game will come down to big plays. Giving up big plays, fumbles, and a slow start plagued the Grovers in the first meeting.
I’ll take the Grover’s in the rematch

For Coal Grove’s sake, they better hope, that they don’t have the same officiating crew as Nelsonville did.dragonsfan24 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 9:56 pm This game is going to be a doozy.

Good luck to Grove at the trailer park in Proctorville next week. If it’s the same foot-locker-fill-ins as last night, you’ll need all the luck you can get playing 11 vs 16.

There we go, just what any thread has been missing. A NY fan complaining about the field. If only every school could have a turf field:)
Re: RD 4: Coal Grove (6-2) @ Fairland (7-1)
I think if the Hornets chew up the clock, they have a chance. They held Fairland scoreless after getting down 21-0 early on before falling 27-21. Should be a dandy game! And hopefully it’s not raining.

Any idea when OHSAA makes the ruling? I’m sure NY will protest the game. CG could have to make the long trip to Nelsonville

If one of the poorest districts in the county (Coal Grove) can have turf than I believe Fairland can come up with the money for turf.
Re: RD 4: Coal Grove (6-2) @ Fairland (7-1)
I agree with that 100%. Fairland needs to upgrade their facilities.2trap_4ever wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 2:27 pmIf one of the poorest districts in the county (Coal Grove) can have turf than I believe Fairland can come up with the money for turf.

The Grove needs to be practicing on grass all week. Stay off the turf and get on the grass. I would probably even wet it down just to get use to the possible conditions.
