That’s on he coaches. Who called the field goal at the half.

Some very good teams in SEO this year. Ironton, Waverly, Fort Frye, Trimble, Wheelersburg, Sheridan, and Adena

Regardless of the outcome, this game definitely earned some Region 16 respect for the Waverly program. It is great to see the strides Coach Crabtree and gang have made over the past few years.

Only Ironton and Fort left to play for Region next week. Fort should win easily and Ironton the same with Ridgewood since Tingle (qb) was hurt early in the 1st qtr. against Burg and just came in sparingly for a few plays when they were down around the goal line the rest of the game.

He didn’t run at all but he sure was able throw the ball.

Well I was able to watch this one and let's be honest it was an extremely well contested battle and very clean played game, if memory serves I think there was maybe 3-4 penalties total all night long. Waverly's last drive before CM took it down the field was their chance really one of the plays I didn't like was the 2nd down call on that final turnover on downs. Poe was great between the tackles most of the night there was no need in running him outside. Other than that this is the type of game everyone should've gotten to see being where we are in the playoffs. Can you imagine without the restrictions on attendance how much this game would've been rocking and rolling. For Waverly to come back from 14 down to a team that runs the ball like that after the botched onside is darn impressive. Hats off to both teams, the big play was definitely the pitch outside that got the ball to the 14 with less than a minute to go.

Twice inside the 20 with no points hurt bad and then the Tiger last drive that turned over on downs around the 30 after the defense had made two consecutive stops stung. We can nitpick the last Massie drive that lead to the game winning FG with no time left but maybe use some of those 3 timeouts to save time for your offense.

#1 team in the State knows they were in a war with the Waverly Tigers. Waverly knows they could have beaten the #1 team in the State - This team has RAISED THE BAR for future Tiger teams and while we lose some great players there is a great nucleus to build on for next year. I would love to see 70-80 kids out next year.

CONGRATULATIONS WAVERLY ON A GREAT YEAR - UNDEFEATED REGULAR SEASON & SOC2 CHAMPIONS

Great season by the Tigers! I truly think the Tigers was the more talented team but it is what it is.

Talked to a Massie dad, #6, after the game and he said, “Not sure the best team won tonight?” Btw, he stood and cheered for Waverly as they walked out the gate. Classy

What a heartbreaking loss for the Tigers. I thought they left it all on the field and have absolutely nothing to hang their heads about. That was two darn good football teams that got after each other up front on both sides of the ball. We have never been blocked downfield like that...their line was very athletic and did a great job getting to the second level. I thought our line was physical and did a great job with the games and stunts Massie was using to try to get to Shanks. You jus5 had the feeling that it was going to come down to the last seconds, and it did. I really felt like our passing game was on a level they had never seen and that we could have our way with them. We ran the ball well, but I’m not sure we couldn’t have put more points on the board and more pressure on their offense if we had just thrown it all over the place. It’s hard to criticize much in that game, though. Good luck to Massie the rest of the way. As was said above...a truly classy program.

Idk if I would say the better team didn’t win...Massie’s 1 turnover was self inflicted. And if they didn’t fumble they were on their way to making it a two score game. Waverly played very well and I’d say shocked the state with how close they kept it.

They fumbled on a 4th and 3. No guarantee they even pick up that first down. The play of the game for me was the 4th and 6 Waverly didn’t convert. They pick that up and I think they win the game
