Does that say I could coach just as well? LaVerde has help. Why you think he doesn’t wear a headset for? He implemented things to get this going but Sullivan in the weight room is why we make title runsPirateFan[69] wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 8:14 am42DF3B06-9735-4DAD-836F-C92DA42B7371.jpegKirtland80 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 6:36 pmScreenshot those exact words please. What makes calpreps the god of predicting scores? It’s some keyboard Warrior sitting at a screen making guesses. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then.

Lil sisters.
You have to be the biggest idiot I've ever seen on here and I've been on a long time. Holden basically turned down a scholarship from OSU clown because he wanted to play basketball. Holden was also smart to go to a smaller school where he started as a Freshman who unlike Carrico will never see the field at OSU, sorry that's JMO. I think he is more suited for Marshall or OU or any of the MAC schools but not the Big 10.
I'd bet a crisp $100 bill Carrico will end up at one of the above mentioned schools. If a small DV school like Kirtland made him obsolete on defense in there game, do you really think he can compete with a Penn St or Mich St or any of them for that matter??? His coach got him that scholly I would almost bet money on it. Everyone would love to see local kids do good but I think he is getting in over his head.
Kirtland would have beat the Burg worse than they did Ironton, Burg isn't physical enough to compete with them.
You are correct, Holden didn’t get extended an offer because he more or less told Urban he wanted to play basketball after HS so they quit recruiting him but trust me, Urban wanted him really bad.
I hope nothing but the best for Carrico but he’s got a lot of improvement to do before he plays for the Bucks. I still think he would have been a great fit at Marshall!!!
Re: Burg 2021
Burg played Columbus Watterson and the only Buckeye that saw Holden play was Urban's wife. Their son played for Watterson. Urban wasn't there and neither were any assistant coaches. That doesn't sound like he wanted him bad. Just sayin.yabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 11:01 amfrankie wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 7:36 pmHolden didn't get offered by Ohio State. But anyone who doubts that holden wasn’t a high level D1 football player, makes me doubt if that person knows football. Holden was the real deal and because his interest never was high in football doesn’t diminish how good he was in the sport.

He visited Urban a week or so after the Watterson game because Urbam didn’t believe he was a 6’6” WR with that kind of speed and skills. Urban wanted him to not play AAU basketball over the summer between his Junior and Senior year and Holden told him he couldn’t do it. He loved basketball more than football. That’s when Urban knew he wasn’t getting him so he stopped recruiting him.
Had Holden decided to play football after HS his numbers would have been different his Senior year. Go look at his numbers from his Junior and his Senior years. Not even close. He wanted to be the focal point his Junior year and hopefully get that state title, which he did. He put up some staggering numbers his Junior year, some that put him in the top ten in the OHSAA record book. His Senior year his numbers dropped off considerably as he didn’t want the ball as much. He went from a finalist for Mr. Football, DV Co-offensive player of the year and of course 1st team all state his Junior year to 2nd team all state his Senior year. It wasn’t that teams were shutting him down. His passion was basketball and I think he played just enough to get by that year. The numbers don’t lie and trust me, he didn’t take a lot of hits his Senior year.
He has really shined at Wright St on the court and I think he could have been playing for the Buckeyes right now. He is by far the best football/ basketball player combo to ever come out of Wheelersburg and maybe even Scioto county.

Re: Burg 2021
Burg's run of excellence speaks for itself. Watching Waver!y play the Pirates during the mid and late 1960's, you could see the raw talent the Burg had on the field. They just needed the coaching spark provided by Ed Miller starting in 1972 to round into a championship caliber program.
Gut feelings are your guardian angels
Re: Burg 2021
Excited to see Burgs backfield. They return probably the best back in the area and another junior will be filling in as well as he came back fro one year being at valley. Burgs offensive success will hinge on them having a line. They have three coming back that saw some time. One started.
Defensively I think they will be really good. A little undersized but I think they will be quick.
