Dustin Johnson finally has a green jacket, and a Masters record to go with it. The 36-year-old who has been close at Augusta was never really threated Sunday, winning the seven-month delayed Masters by five strokes over Cameron Smith and Sungjae IM and, in the process, posting the lowest 72-hole score in tournament history. Johnson's 20-under bested the previous record of 18-under held by Tiger Woods and Jordan Speith. To have the record at 20-under is a great honor and I don't even know what to say, Johnson said just before Tiger Woods slipped on his green jacket. Johnson is as cool, calm and collected as any player in the world, yet drama seemingly always some how found him. Not this Sunday at Augusta though.

The PGA Tour is facing a new Covid-19 outbreak, just one week after the rescheduled Masters tournament. Three golfers, Kramer Hickok, Henrik Norlander and Bill Haas, all withdrew from the RSM Classic this week at Sea Island in Georgia after testing positive for the coronavirus. Haas tested first on Tuesday and withdrew from the event, and was replaced by Hickok, who was the first alternate. Hickok and Norlander then both tested positive on Wednesday, and then both withdrew.

Camilo Villegas is tied for the lead at the 2020 RSM Classic, after shooting a 6-under (bogey free) 64 in the first round. The Colombian native shot his best opening round on the PGA Tour since the 2016 Mayakoba Golf Classic.

Robert Streb birdied his last two holes on the Plantation course at Seal Island, and in doing so matched his career low with a 9-under 63, giving him a two-shot lead over Camilo Villegas on Friday at the RSM Classic. The final two rounds move to the Seaside course, which Joel Dahmen lit up Friday for a 9-under 61 that took him outside the cut line to just outside the Top-10. The last four winners at the RSM Classic each had the 36-hole lead. Streb said he didn't want to be the one to break the streak, but that there's still a lot of golf left to be played.

What's wild about this is Johnson got the scoring record, which in itself is amazing, but Cameron Smith being the only player to shoot 4 rounds in the 60's just blows my mind with all the legendary players who have been there. I guess it's safe to say the course is much easier in November. Jack Nicklaus was even predicting DeShambeau could drive the 445 yard first green. I also thought it was neat College Gameday did their show there Saturday morning.

Robert Streb made an 8-foot par putt to stay alive in a playoff and ended it on the second extra hole Sunday with a pitching wedge that came within an inch from going in, giving him a victory over Kevin Kisner in the RSM Classic. Streb won for the second time on the PGA Tour, with his other title also coming in a playoff at Sea Island six years ago.

Golfers have just one week remaining to punch their ticket to the 2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions. The last chance to earn a seat will come this week at El Camaleon Golf Club. It's a Greg Norman design that punishes errant tee shots and doesn't demand power.

Russell Knox has a theory as to why he's historically played well at the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Knox, joked that it was probably the tequila and tacos. Knox torched the back nine, making five birdies in a six-hole stretch to shoot a 6-under 65 on a blustery day with intermittent rain. Three golfers, Joaquin Niemann, Emiliano Grillo and Tom Hoge are one stroke off the lead.

The 2020-21 PGA Tour season has proven to be a great opportunity for golfers to end winless streaks. Tony Finau is looking to join the crowd. On Friday, Finau shot a second round 66 to tie for the lead at 9-under after 36 holes at the Mayakoba Golf Classic, the final Tour event in the calender year 2020. Tied with Finau for the clubhouse lead after the early group is Tom Hoge, who shot a 4-under 67 in the second round. Hoge has yet to win in 165 career starts on the Tour.

Emiliano Grillo steadied himself with a pair of birdies over the last six holes Saturday for a 3-under 68, giving the Argentine a one-shot lead going into the final round of the Mayakoba Classic. Tom Hoge, who has not ever won a PGA Tour event, birdied four of the last five holes for a 65 to get within one shot of the lead.

Viktor Hovland rolled in a nerve jangling 12-foot birdie putt on the final hole to clinch a victory at the Mayakoba Classic in rainy Playa del Carmen in Mexico on Sunday. Hovland, looked as calm and cool as could be as he stepped up to put the finishing touch on a final round six-under 65 and notch his second career title. The 23-year old's winning total of 20-under 264 was one better than American Aaron Wise, who shot the joint best round of the day, a bogey-free 63-under.

Matt Kuchar and Harris English broke a bunch of their own QBE Shootout records in a runaway victory Sunday at Tiburon Golf Club. Kuchar and English became the first team to win the event three times, finishing at 37-under 179 to break the record of 34-under they set in 2013, and won by 9-strokes to top their 2013 record of 7-strokes. Five strokes ahead after an 11-under 61 on Saturday in the modified alternate-shot-play, Kuchar and English shot a 60 in the better-ball play. English then finished birdie-eagle-birdie.
