Ohio State Defensive Tackle Haskell Garrett was only able to garner Third-Team Honors by the Big Ten Coaches on Wednesday of this past week, today Garrett was named a First-Team All-American by Pro-Football Focus. Garrett didnt make any of the Media's All-Conference teams, even though he has emerged as one of the most dominant interior linemen in the country. This season Garrett has 17 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and a pick-six to go along with the relentless pressure he has put on opposing quarterbacks this season in addition to his run-stopping ability. With what he went through prior to the start of the season, it's been a wild ride and an unbelievable season for Garrett. At least somebody is giving him the recognition that he deserves.
Especially deserving given Garrett's season was jeopardized by a gunshot wound to the face earlier in the year.

Agree completely, very lucky to be alive to be shot at all, let alone in the face.

University of Michigan football season has officially come to a close. The Wolverines were not selected for a bowl game on Sunday afternoon. They will finish the season with a 2-4 record. After canceling their final three games of the season against Maryland, Ohio State and Iowa, at least they avoided finishing with a probable 3-6 record or maybe a 2-7 record. Now we just need to give Jimmy boy a lifetime coaching contract, and everything will be fine.

Ex Buckeye Chase Young is already an NFL Pro-Bowler. The rookie defensive end was one of four former Ohio State players announced as Pro Bowl selections for the 2020 NFL season on Monday night, along with fellow defensive end Joey Bosa and defensive linemen Cameron Heyward and cornerback Marshon Lattimore. Young, the No-2 overall pick in this years NFL draft has recorded 38 total tackles with 5.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, three pass deflections and a 47 yard fumble return for a touchdown in his first 13 games as a professional. Bosa, who became the NFL's highest paid defensive player this offseason, makes the Pro Bowl for the third time in five NFL seasons. He's recorded 39 total tackles with 7.5 sacks, one pass deflection and one fumble recovery in 12 games this season. Heyward, who became the NFL's highest paid defensive player over 30 years old in the off season. He has 42 total tackles with three sacks, three passes deflected and his first career interception in 13 games this season. Lattimore makes his 3rd Pro Bowl in four NFL seasons. He's recorded 56 total tackles with 8 passes deflected and one interception in 12 games this season. This seasons Pro Bowl will not actually be played due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

He wants to stay. Sure must be a glutton for punishment unless he thinks this 5 star QB he finally snagged will be the savior.

Ohio State Center Josh Myers is one of three finalists for the prestigious Rimington Award. Myers, if he would win the award would be the third Ohio State center in the last five years to win the award, after Pat Elflein earned the honor in 2016 and Billy Price in 2017. The other two finalists for this years award are Landon Dickerson of Alabama and Tyler Linderbaum of Iowa. I hope I'm wrong but I think the shortened Big Ten season will hurt Myers in his bid to win this award.

The Honors continue to pour in for Justin Fields. The second year starting QB was named the Associated Press Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year on Tuesday, plus three of his teammates, left tackle Thayer Munford, right guard Wyatt Davis and cornerback Shaun Wade were all voted as First-Team All-Big Ten Honorees by the Associated Press. The Associated Press voters consist of 24 reporters who cover Big Ten football teams.

It looks as if the Buckeyes are losing one of it's highly-touted freshman wide receivers. After just one season at Ohio State, freshman wide receiver Mookie Cooper has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. Cooper was the No-93 overall player and the No-16 wide receiver in the 2020 recruiting class, the lowest rated of the four top-100 players that Ohio State signed at receiver in the 2020 class. Cooper did not play a single snap during Ohio State's six games this season. I wish him a lot of luck wherever he ends up. With the talent that Hartline has recruited at wide receiver for the 2021 class, it probably should not be a shock that he as well as possibly someone else also enters the transfer portal.

Zak Herbstreit is following in his father's footsteps. Herbstreit, a tight end whose father is former Ohio State QB and current ESPN commentator Kirk Herbstreit, announced his commitment to Ohio State on Wednesday as a preferred walk-on. Herbstreit's older twin brother's, Jake and Tye Herbstreit, are both currently walk-on's at Clemson, where Tye is a wide receiver and Jake is a safety.

The Football Writer's Association of America has voted Ohio State guard Wyatt Davis as a first team All-American, meaning he becomes the latest consensus All-American since he has appeared on more than half of the NCAA's designated selectors. Wide Receiver Garrett Wilson and Defensive Back Shaun Wade were picked as second-team All- American's.

After earning a first-team All-American nod from the American Football Coaches Association on Thursday, Shaun Wade is officially a consensus All-American as he has made the first-team for three of the five major All-American lists. Wade was named a first team All-American by both the Associated Press and the Sporting News earlier this week, and then made the second-team list for the Football Writers Association of America. Wyatt Davis also made the AFCA's first-team list, marking his fourth first-team nod of the year after he made each of the Associated Press, Sporting News and the FWAA lists. With four first-team nods, Davis is now just one list shy of becoming a Unanimous All-American status, as the Walter Camp Football Foundation All-American team has yet to be released. Davis and Wade were joined on the AFCA list by Jonathon Cooper, who was named a second-team All-American. For Cooper, it was his first All-American honor of the season.

Ohio State today received a commitment from 5-Star Cornerback Jaheim Singletary for the Class of 2022. Singletary is from Jacksonville Florida's Robert Lee High School, and gives the Buckeyes their third commit ranked in the Top-15 overall and the fifth commit ranked in the Top 55 overall. Singletary also held offers from Florida, Clemson and Georgia, the other three schools that were in his final four. He also held offers from LSU, Oregon, Penn State, Texas A@M, Southern California and Michigan.

Former Ohio State wide receiver Mookie Cooper, who entered the transfer portal last month, announced Tuesday that he has committed to Missouri. A Saint Louis native, and now headed to Columbia, Missouri, he will be just a couple hours away from his home city.

Ohio State QB Justin Fields was presented as the 2020 winner of the Chicago Tribune Silver Football, an award in existence since 1924 that goes to the best player in the Big Ten. He received 12 of the 13 possible first-place votes. His receivers garnered attention also. Garrett Wilson had one first-place vote and Chris Olave picked up two second place votes.

Former Ohio State QB Kenny Guiton continues to rise through the coaching ranks. The former Ohio State QB is now the wide receivers coach at University of Arkansas. Guiton was previously the wide receivers coach at Colorado State, where he worked for one season. Before that, he was the wide receiver coach at Louisiana Tech in 2019 and at Houston in 2017-18.

Well Ohio State fans finally got their wish, as University of Scum has given their (Strange) coach Jim Harbaugh a contract extension through 2025. I'm just a little disappointed that it wasn't a lifetime contract. Athletic Director Warde Manuel said that he believed that Harbaugh was the right man to lead Scum's program in pursuit of Big Ten and CFP championships. As it stands right now, can you imagine how painful it must be to be a fan of this program ?

Rudy Hubbard, Ohio States former running back from 1965-67, and then an assistant coach under Woody Haye's has been selected as a member of the College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2021. Hubbard's Hall of Fame selection comes in recognition of his 12-year tenure as the Head Coach at Florida A@M, where he compiled a record of 83-48-3. The highlight of his tenure with the Rattlers came in1978, when he led Florida A@M to the first ever Division 1-AA National Championship, still the only time an HBCU team has ever won the National Title in what is now the Football Championship Subdivision.

I meant to say he played and coached under Woody Hayes, not Haye's.
