I like it. You could still have the traditional games every year they’d just be non conference opponents (SW vs Burg)bbjunky81 wrote: Wed Jan 20, 2021 9:03 am Now that I've had a second to draw it up, I've always thought something like this would make a ton of sense. Yes, traveling wouldn't be great for some trips, but there's still plenty of short trips to make up for it.
SOC 1 (Small School)
East
New Boston
Notre Dame
Green
Clay
St. Joe
South Gallia
Symmes Valley
SOC 2 (Middle)
South Webster
Oak Hill
Valley
Northwest
Eastern
Western
Coal Grove
Piketon
SOC 3 (Large Schools)
Wheelersburg
Jackson
Ironton
Portsmouth
Minford
Waverly
Portsmouth West
South Point
If we take SP Ptown Itown And CG we might as well take Peake and make a play for the Dragons too.
I like that middle division. Burg doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone anymore

In the 2000’s it was us and oak hill and then it was just us for a long time. I guess now it’s SW Valley and Eastern. Still though

dont let the door hit your backside. If we get rid of enough teams maybe we can win the TVC.
Run the FB Belly and cram it up ther poop shoot!
Re: South Gallia to SOC?
I actually considered adding all 3 of them but was only doing a rough draft.
Nonetheless, the possibility of any of this happening is WAY less than 1%... I'm just rambling incoherently for something fun to talk about

But in the situation all 3 are added... I would think Fairland goes to big school division.... Rock Hill / Peake would go to the Middle division.... and one of Eastern or Western would drop to the small school division...

Right, I know, and I agree with you, outside of a few years, they haven't dominated like you'd think they could. The Ghost of Swanker wrote: Wed Jan 20, 2021 2:31 pmIn the 2000’s it was us and oak hill and then it was just us for a long time. I guess now it’s SW Valley and Eastern. Still though

You can kiss my backside Wing T. SG is right where they should be. Yes I realize everyone in the TVC hates traveling to our place but we see that as an advantage for us. If we can get Trimble out I think we can win a few chips ourselves.Wings Teaford wrote: Wed Jan 20, 2021 2:32 pm dont let the door hit your backside. I mean schools are bidding to get in and bidding to get out, it’s not totally out of the realm of possibility. We took St Joe in. SOC3 would have to be one of the toughest conferences in the state outside of city leagues right?

Curious, your Big School, Middle and Small. Is that based on enrollment or competitiveness?

Waverly has more socioeconomic ties to Chillicothe and the SVC footprint than they do Portsmouth. Competition would likely be more favorable in the SVC than getting your brains beat out against Wheelersburg in most years. Yet Waverly should remember from their ill fated SEOAL venture 50 years ago that the grass is not always greener elsewhere. There is something to be said for stability.

I still can't get over the New Boston #. 52. That means "at least" 10 varsity players (last year's team) resided outside of the school district limits and haven't attended continuously since 7th grade.

A combination of both.... but when in doubt, I went with competitiveness in terms of who goes up/down.Tri-StateYouthSports wrote: Wed Jan 20, 2021 3:06 pm Curious, your Big School, Middle and Small. Is that based on enrollment or competitiveness?
I also wouldn’t say I put a whole lot of thought into it

Re: South Gallia to SOC?
I remember back in 2008 or 09 there was an SOC meeting where South Gallia made a proposal to be accepted to the SOC - and was voted down for the umpteenth million time and Portsmouth made a proposal to be accepted to the SOC and was voted down for the 300th time and Northwest made a proposal to be allowed to Move down to SOC 1 in football only and was accepted at 13-3 in favor.
