Agree -- Vinopal was throwing a curve ball. He is transfering to Pitt & following his old position coach.

Vinopal's Mom is indeed sick ( cancer).

YSU campus is very nice with excellent facilities, some better than MAC venues. The suburbs are very nice as well. Downtown Ytown is problematic, lol.

PEAKE: Thanks form the great info. Good stuff. Lived in Ohio 56 years and can't remember a time rooting for The University of Ohio State. Have been and always will be a true BLUE Michigan fan despite our recent slide. We will be back and sooner than expected. Very happy with the Brady Hoke hire. Wanted him over Harbaugh or Miles,so i am pleased.

I am hearing that Toussaint and Shaw are starting to serparate themselves in the RB battle and that Devin is actually outplaying Denard on a regular basis. Defense is coming around with Campbell and Roh picking up the pace. Looks like the players are having fun playing football again, I am very excited about what this new coaching staff is doing.

Observations 1st hand- Devin Gardner will be hard to keep off the field. He threw two int's but he was with the 2nd O going against #1 D and he had pressure on him every throw. On both int's if there would have been more then a milisecond to throw they are both on the money for big gains. He really is so much smoother in the pocket then Denard.

Denard---same old story. Runs like the wind but inconsistent throwing. He goes to the same guys over and over. If you are an opposing team double Roundtree and he won't know what to do with it. I am really concerned about what to do with him. IMO if we had more then 3 scholly QB's he would make the move to wr.

defense---very impressed with the DL. They are going to be huge. So glad we are going to see an Alabama approach with huge DT's. Mike Martin is an All-American in the making, moves around plays NG, DE, and rush LB.

LB-they were ok. Not impressed with any but RFr Jake Ryan. Too bad for Ryan though he plays Mike, which is the same position as Kenny Demens, who sat out the game with slight injury.

DB- Carvin Johnson looked really good at FS. Didn't even know Kovacs was on the field. Don't be surprised if you see Carvin at FS and Marvin Robinson at SS by mid year. DB's were meh. Courtney Avery was solid and will continue to be, but Troy Woolfolk will be back along with JT Floyd. Should be interesting.

Offense- Looked sluggish. Mike Cox ran well along with Stephin Hopkins. OL was ok, still a little light up front. No Taylor Lewan. Good to see the young guys getting some PT, but the OL has to get bigger. Wr's were meh, mostly because the QB's were meh. Have to get the ball in Stonum and Hemmingways hands, both are good and need to see it more. The slots in the offense are non-existent. Watch for a couple guys to leave (slots). TE's are going to be top notch. Koger, Moore, and converted WR Ricardo Miller and among the most athletic TE's in the Big Ten.

Two huge commits this weekend.

#1 Kaleb Ringer---Kaleb is from Cincy and is the #8 MLB in the country. Nephew of former MSU runningback Javon Ringer.

#2 Royce Jenkins-Stone---Royce is from Detroit and is the #7 OLB in the country.

expected to commit soon is James Ross---#2 SLB in the country from Orchard Lakes St. Marys in Michigan. Michigan is about to be stacked again at LB.

Also saw Jordan Diamond at the game. Jordan is considered the best OT in the mid-west.

I watched on TV , here how I saw it .
Offense B-
O-line B-
Runningbacks B-
Quarterbacks C
Wide Outs C
Defense C
D-line C
Linebackers D
D-Backs B
The defense has a better scheme , the tackle better . The front seven is questionable IMO. But much improved over last year . D-Backs are the strength of the defense . I see alot of tackles comming from the safeties this fall. Overall good enough to keep us in games.

Offense has a chance to be very explosive , I like Gardner under center and Robinson in the gun. I dont know how they will work it but both should play about equal time. The backs are decent they dont have one guy who can just carry the load ,but a couple of promising young guys. Should be able to score on just about any team they play. Still alot of work to be done ,but I see a successful season this fall for the Wolverines.

GO BLUE

Have to disagree on the secondary.

That group is paper thin on depth and talent. JT Floyd is average, nothing more. Avery is still too young and should have been redshirted. Cullen Christian was so bad this spring he was behind two walk-ons. Greg Brown was the second best DB as a true freshmen, which tells me how bad the secondary really is. Woolfolk will return, but he was only slightly above average. There is a good possibility that Black Countess sees the field early for Michigan, and that tells how thin in talent they are at DB.

There is a good possibility we see Avery and Countess on the field at the same time.

That would mean Sophomore, Freshmen, Sophomore at FS, and RJr (Kovacs) at SS. That is not a strength.

The DL has NFL ready Mike Martin, 3 year starter RVB, 3 year starter and potential NFL player Craig Roh, Big Will Campbell (NFL potential), and Jibrel Black promising sophomore.

Speaking of secondary, it's about to get thinner. Cullen Christian is transferring. It doesn't really bother me that much to tell you the truth. He came from a good high school program and he was way way overrated coming out of high school. He was never going to play DB anyways, he was going to have to move over to FS. The problem I have heard is that the new staff told him this and said you are 185, we need you at 205ish minimum and he bolted. To be honest I am not too worried about it.

Look for him to end up at Pitt. This is where many of the excellent defensive coaching staff from the previous staff ended up.

I'm not sure he will end up at Pitt, I've heard he had some issues with that staff as well. I think he ends up at a mid major program.

LOL, yeah 91 I think he has a problem with anyone who doesn't sell him a bunch of bs that he is the greatest in the world.

He said he is upset because this staff told him he had the chance to be a solid backup. What is so wrong with that? Playing behind a RSr (Woolfolk), a RJr (JT Floyd), and Sophomore Coutney Avery is not that big a deal imo. Cullen, had it not been for injuries (Woolfolk and JT) he would have been redshirted last year and never seen the field. The kid should be a RFr competing for a backup role this season, and then competing for a starting job next year. Pretty normal protocol.

Anyways, wish him well and see you later.

Next on the chopping block I am hearing is DJ Williamson, Rfr, WR. Williamson was a project from the get go. A 2-star from Warren Harding who was a state 100m track champion, yet had only 1 scholarship for football (michigan of course). This one won't hurt much either. Michigan has too many average wr's who need to hit the bricks.

Michigan picked up the #1 TE in the state and #6 overall TE in the country today. Farmington HIlls TE Devin Funchess picked UM over Nebraska, Michigan State, and Iowa.

So far Michigan has 3 4-star recruits all in the top 10 nationally at their position. Things are really looking up in recruiting.

When it rains it pours.

AJ Williams from Cin Sycamore, the #1 TE in the country just committed to Michigan.

Michigan now has 4 4-star recruits. This class could possible be top 5 if several recruits who are expected to go blue follow through.

Next year UM may be the deepest and most talented team in the country at TE.

Brandon Moore RSr.
Ricardo Miller RSoph
Chris Barnett RFr
AJ William Fr
Devin Funchess Fr

WR D.J. Williamson becomes the second player from Ohio to leave. This confirms earlier reports I got. POssible transfer to YSU. Former State Champ in 100 meters and had a 10.59 best. He may get a look at DB & KP/PR as well.
