This game had serious POY and league championship implications. Just because it didn’t mean much to Westfall doesn’t mean you can just get someone out of crowd to call the game.

Sounds like Westfall out played them and U was lethargic and officiating sounded bad.

On the free throws was Unioto living at the 3 line? WF living underneath? Free throws shot can be pretty misleading.

We took around our average in 3’s. Took 15 and I think 30 2 pointers. Westfall took around the same amt of 3’s. Made more tho lol. Like I said 6 of theirs were from technicals. The inadvertent whistles were mind boggling to me. Took some points off the board for us no question. One was a fast break as Little was going up for a layup he blew the play dead said he thought the coach called a timeout

This won’t help but our last game we played Southeastern and their coach was very vocal calling out one of their plays/offenses and man I thought he was calling for a timeout...each time play kept going and I looked to see if he was jumping up and down trying to get refs attention....refs did a good job with that but it was the varsity refs.

Odd but I have seen a lot of very good JV officiating this year, yeah some are a struggle but I’ve been good with officiating in most JV games I’ve watched.

All league game officials are hired by an assigner.

JV Refs doing the varsity game is a complete and total failure by whoever the assigner is.

Whether it effected the outcome or not, that should never happen.

Just because the crew did both games, doesn’t mean they weren’t class 1 varsity officials.

Curious if the refs in question had the Class 1 certification and just so happened to have been scheduled to do JV, and pulled double duty by also doing varsity out of an emergency situation...

Or, if they were Class 1’s that were scheduled to do double duty in the first place...

Or, if they were Class 2’s that were only scheduled to do JV and they ended up getting pulled into double duty. (Or if they were just scheduled to do both! LOL.)

Three different interpretations of “JV refs doing varsity game.” One is remotely acceptable, anything else is an abomination.

That’s what I was wondering. “JV refs” is a very loose term in this situation.

If they were scheduled to do both from the beginning, that is still very questionable on the assignor & AD’s parts.
