Playing in the D1 NE district that gets 6 district winners to a regional, the Marietta girls came back for a thrilling, intense, nerve-racking come from behind 49-48 win over Uniontown Lake, from the tough, physical Federal League. Lake knocked them out last year like they have been knocked out for several years in a row up there in their first game. I'm sure that fun, exciting, team bonding experience yesterday alone was satisfaction enough to justify the trials and tribulation they had with this pandemic riddled uncertain season they had the opportunity for and chose to embark upon. Their reward is to get to take a shot at North Canton Hoover on Thursday night, and I'm sure they are relishing the opportunity for the 100+ mile trip there to get to compete again!
