The Lions play in a tough SHAC League and have only been beaten bad in 2 or 3 games. The kids from Fairfield flat out get after it on the defensive end! Coach Howlands teams are always well prepared come tourney time! It should be a good one on Wednesday!

The Athens County game of the week on Power 105 is back on the airwaves Wednesday night as the 3rd seeded Federal Hocking Lancers play host to the Fairfield Lions inside McInturf Gymnasium in Stewart. The Lancers ran past Green 94-70 last week to win their 2nd consecutive sectional championship. The Lions meanwhile upset Ironton St. Joe 56-42 for their 2nd consecutive win in this years tournament. Wednesday’s DIV district semi-final between Federal Hocking and Fairfield can be heard live on Power 105.5FM and wxtq.com or the Power 105 app with pregame at 6:45 and the tipoff at 7:00.

The Lions play a brutal non league schedule against mostly D2 and 3 teams that prepares them for the tourney every year! Run and gun offense is fun to watch, but sitting down and playing defense can counter a gast paced offense! The Lions were ready for this one! One game at a time!

I would have to disagree. Our boys was robbed. Somehow the refs for the game came form Ironton St Jude and they cheated us because of how the game with them went down last year. Its too bad. Our boys deserved better.
