Great place to watch a game (high school and college). Would be a better atmosphere than the Schott if regular amount of fans were allowed in.*

Awesome! Great arena that will provide memories for any team fortunate enough to make state.

Re: State Tournament At Dayton Arena
What is the seating capacity at the Dayton Arena?
With DeWine extending the amount of fans to 25% capacity for indoor sporting events what will that magic number be? Provided he doesn't come up with some weird max amount like 500.

Re: State Tournament At Dayton Arena
14,000 give or take with the remodel, which added space but lost a few seats.
Re: State Tournament At Dayton Arena
One google search says 13,400. So figuring in the 25% capacity limits, roughly 3,350 seats will be sold.
Re: State Tournament At Dayton Arena
If the Gov doesn't put a strange max amount like 1,000 or something on it. Made no sense whatsoever to say 15% capacity and then say oh but 300 max regardless of size of venue.

You mean to tell me DeWine hasn’t been consistent with his Covid guidelines?!?!!

Have never been to to UD Arena, or Dayton for that matter.
Anything has to be better than the Schott. Most uncomfortable seats in the state.
Will look forward to a different atmosphere for sure.
Now the big question... where's the best place to eat near the arena?

Best facility in the state. I look for this to be a permanent host if they want it especially once people see what UD has to offer.
Quite a few places to eat on Brown Street from the arena to Campus with in a 1- 2 miles.

Best Arena in OHIO, worse neighborhoods, no restaurants, very few hotels.carbon_dated wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 5:33 pm Have never been to to UD Arena, or Dayton for that matter.

Yep...downside to UD Arena is nothing around it whatsoever. Better pack a cooler with refreshments/snacks for between games if you want to pregame*thebarlowbandit wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 12:23 amBest Arena in OHIO, worse neighborhoods, no restaurants, very few hotels.carbon_dated wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 5:33 pm Have never been to to UD Arena, or Dayton for that matter.

Just head east on Stewart St, cross the river and in 2 blocks you'll hit Brown St, the heart of UD restaurant/bar scene. Take a left or right on Brown and you'll find plenty of options. May not be walkable for some, but in car, it's a 5-10 minute drive, depending on traffic and how many lights you catch.

If OHSAA website is correct, games are Friday, Saturday, Sunday. That can’t be correct ?

The city of Dayton loves their sports, Flyers, Dragons, NCAA tournament they do it up right. If its open for inside dining The Pine Club is famous for their steaks on Brown Street.
