Was he as likely to go to Jackson as Jared Frey was to move from Hilliard to Waverly? Lol
They were in Waverly a lot - spent a lot of time there - were even looking at houses, had realtors involved. So, ya they were making plans to go to Waverly..... don’t know why thats hard to understand, it just didn’t work out.
Yeah, but why wouldn’t they have just rented a shell house and lived in Piketon? Or a fake apartment in Waverly while they lived in Bainbridge or Chillicothe. Maybe they could have just forfeited their child to a teammate’s parents so that they could go to Waverly instead of living in Chillicothe/Hilliard.
Not like any of those things have ever happened before or anything.
Well will have everyone back Monday....no more scrimmages. Will be difficult to be on point early on. 7 of top 9 players haven’t practice/played since FU/Peake scrimmage on the 7th.
I would think virtual learning would make it easier for sports to move forward. Even though there hasn’t been much spread being linked to schools kids are being quarantined for sitting near a kid in class. Less chance of teams losing players to being quarantined as contacts because of others in school.
Ok....Jackson players are no longer quarantined and can get back to practice on the 1st. They have missed 2 different 2 weeks of practice or game time. Ironmen sit at 4-0 and will travel to North Adams on 1/5, travel to Miami Trace on 1/8 and host Washington CH on 1/9
Big week. Jackson will be without senior guard Caleb Hutchinson as he broke his finger and needs surgery. Caleb started in game 1 and then was quarantined on his own and now may only get 1 game his senior year. Great kid, rinks for him and his teammates will need to keep stepping up.
It is over. The 2020-2021 Ironmen went 16-4, FAC Co Champs and Sectional Champions
8-1 at home and 8-3 on the road
Seniors:
Braxton Hammond....3 year varsity rotation player, all league, 2x all-district mention. What a defender and just a kid that’s everywhere. Great kid and excellent career. He will be greatly missed. Thanks for the endless effort.
Boston Kuhn...2 year varsity rotation player and all-league and all-district mention. Kuhn had some huge huge games. Kid could rattle off points with the best of them. Class valedictorian I believe and top notch kid.
Landon Erwin...varsity rotation player this year and so solid. Made very few mistakes in his minutes this season. So physical and a very good athlete. Always loved his effort.
Caleb Hutchinson...varsity rotation player this year and missed most due to injury. Great energy and athleticism. High end kid to say the least. So easy to cheer for.
Juniors
Drew Bragg. Love your heart man. All league, 2x all district mention. Coach on the floor late in games. Hit so many big shots. Pretty much willed us to 3 wins this season late in games. Great court vision. One more year kid...I want to see big time things next year.
Evan Spires...wow. One of my all-time favorite players to watch navigate a game. So darn smart. Almost every big play he seems to have a part in it. A floor general. Youth coaches should have their teams watch how he plays. Evan Spires does it right...and very well.
Holden Blankenship...big growth this season. Took care of the ball and got the offense going. It’s there, he’s a clutch player and he will show it next year. He’ll score in double figures next season.
Tristen Prater...glad you came back! Such tremendous hands and anticipation skills. Things you can’t teach. Had some big offensive games and really thrived defensively all season.
Nate Woodard....it’s there. You are so close. Next year will be great. He will have some 20 point games. Book it. Work hard this off-season and thrive your senior year. Showed the ability to score in a hurry and grab the high rebound. We’ll need him big next year.
Logan Miller....you see his flashes and ability pretty quickly. I’ve said since 5th grade that he is the kid that could put this group over the top. The ceiling is super high kid, take advantage of it.
Trey Miller....keep working. No reason to stop now. Big time shooter and has gotten himself into great shape. Keep working kid!
Chris Hughes...love you kid. Didn’t play a whole lot but watch some game video....the kid up clapping when his teammates do good things...that’s Chris Hughes. He’s full throttle effort and class. The clutch is there too and you’ll see it next season. When he did get in he was often on a quick starting guard towards the end of games. They tried time after time to juke and get by him and score but didn’t...his quickness and intelligence caused horrible shot after horrible shot.
Great overall season by the players and coaches. The seniors leave as the winingest group their 4 years in JHS history.
