SVC 2021

Post by tnichols10 »

Predictions for SVC 2021? Since last year was lost I'm not sure what all the teams have coming back. I would guess Unioto would be near the top. I don't know what Westfall has coming back besides Blackburn. Same for Adena and Garrison. ZT will have to play some young kids. Those were top 4 in 2019.

Zane Trace lost 11 seniors from a 2020 season that never happened, but they have some good young talent.

Baseball and softball are hard to predict with the lost season. I would put Unioto at the top with probably PV, but that could be way off...lol!

This season is really hard to tell but, by looking at which team has the best pitching, I would say Unioto and PV are right up there, with Westfall too. When you have two kids like Blanton & Estep on the mound, I know PV will be tough. Same with Unioto and DeBord and Westfall with Blackburn.

Absolutely no clue besides there are still some high level pitchers in the league.

I don’t know if PV will be able to score a lot, but with Blanton and Estep, they should be in most, if not all; games.

I usually look at the SVC records other than the overall records. Some programs in the league play terrible teams non league. Others play a good non league schedule.

Yes just take a peek at Adena’s schedule, very challenging.

Absolutely.
Adena has 9 losses which include non league losses to Hillsboro, Jackson x2, Lebanon, and Pick Central
2 league losses to Unioto and Westfall. That's 7 losses to teams that would beat most DIII teams in SEO.

I don't think Adena has enough pitching to have a winning record over 27 games. But tourney time, you only need 2. They're a team many won't want to see, and with their record, they may get a low seed.

See, the deceiving thing about the SVC is that any team can win any night. Like, PV was up 2-0 going into the bottom of the 7th against Unioto in Rd 1. And I know SE has been in a number of close games too.

This is absolute embarrassing, Adena baseball cancels the game at their place yesterday because of "threat" of rain! Every other school in the area played, and got there games in! Now, after that downpour we received yesterday and today, Adena is saying that they have an "opportunity" to get the remake game in today! if this isn't the most blatant disregard for the rules of the league! More rain moving in today, after a bunch of hours of rain yesterday and last night!

I’m extremely confident in saying that it wasn’t “Adena baseball” that canceled last night’s game. Adena baseball was just as upset as you are. And rightfully so, I might add. However, if there is any speculation that it was done in order to circumvent any league rule, then that accusation is completely unfounded. It had nothing to do with pitching or any other devious purpose. It was a bad call by someone

The reason was apparently that someone believed a weather forecast that turned out to be completely wrong. Believe me, I get why you are upset about it and I agree with you, but I promise you it wasn’t to manipulate pitching or anything like that at all

You never call off a baseball game because it is suppose to rain.

I can’t disagree. The only reason I said anything at all was to dispel any allegation that Adena baseball canceled the game to manipulate any league rules.
