couldnt find the soc2 thread to mention possibly poy dont post on the wrong one some are sensitive to that. i always forget soc has 1 and 2. soc 2 looking like burg will clean up? poy hughes , sturgill ? pitcher howard and ruby coach?

Burg 10-0 over Waverly. 5 more home runs. Hughes out in 2nd with injury. Doesn’t look to be serious..

I am not sure that it is a lock for Ruby to get coach of the year. I look at Portsmouth West and see a coach like Coleman who has done a great job with that group of girls.
They started out slow finishing the first half of the season 4-6 but have taken a turn and is currently 10-1 the second half of the season with a few nice wins and a close game with Burg. I think what she has done with that team that is very young and not having near the talent of Burg is pretty solid coaching.

Not sure when the votes are sent in but she would have to be a candidate I would think.

Haven't been to any games lately but based on conversation of friends, this could be a very good game. Webster beat a West pitcher who completely dominated Burg in their second game but at the same time Webster lost to Clay. The contribution from the "kids" on this Burg team has been much more than Coach Ruby could have hoped for at the beginning of the season. Seniors have provided leadership, timely hits and quite a few bombs but this young group will give the SOC fits for years.

Caught the game last night, agree better game than score indicated but talent wise Burg just has a better team. Big crowd, game was intense first couple of innings both teams left runners on base but once the Burg started hitting it was over. Couple of home runs, clutch hits and of course the Burg pitcher can bear down when she needs too. Game had a good vibe, tournament just around the corner for both teams. Lets see how this plays out for the Burg, good luck to Webster as well.

nice win for wburg. raceland has a very good team and well coached. tough to keep wburg from scoring runs. hughes and eaton very tough to keep off the bases. pitch around one you have to pitch to the other or anyone else in the line up is capable of causing some damage.

Burg over Leesburg Fairfield 12-2 (6 innings). Burg will play Wellston for the district championship Saturday at 11:00 at Unioto HS.
