Coach Hoke has done a great job of recruiting the state of Ohio (I have to give credit where credit is due). He has landed seven 2013 recruits and five of the seven are ranked in the ESPN top 150. I hate seeing talent go play up north, but considering Ohio produces so much college talent, I am not too concerned. Coach Hoke is an Ohio native and knows how to recruit the state very successfully. I actually like the fact that Michigan is once again a strong team and it only makes the conference more competitive. It also makes the last game of the year more exciting and meaningful!

For referencing and comparison, here is the ESPN 2013 College Football Recruiting Commitment Scorecard. It is hard to argue or debate actual facts!

Re: Michigan Football Recruiting 2013
My best friend and father are both coaches coaches in Ohio, and they both said that Hoke has really worked hard to develop relationships with coaches around Ohio. They said they have not received the same type of treatment from Meyer. For instance at the last Coaches Meeting Hoke spoke along with Greg Mattison, then he stayed after, spoke with coaches, shook hands, took pictures and all of that. After Meyer spoke he left and only the assistants stayed to speak with coaches.
Re: Michigan Football Recruiting 2013
This will be my last post on here for a while. I am tired of dealing with immature stuff, I help moderate another board and dedicate a lot of time to it. I always enjoyed coming back here because it is where I got my start and I have made some really good friends along the way. Though I am long gone from SEO, I always enjoyed coming back and chatting with people who enjoyed college sports just like I do. Anyways, I will be at the spring game Saturday and if you want a report send me a PM I will give you one, if not, no big deal. You want recruiting info PM me, if not no big deal.
Anyways, for actual substantive information.
1. Defense has been winning most of the battles. Craig Roh getting moved to the 5-tech has worked out well so far. He needs to put on another 10lbs by fall camp. Jibreel Black to 3-tech has also been a pretty good success. He is under sized at 6'2, 280, but coaches believe they can get him a little bigger too, but the most important thing about Black is he gives them athleticism and speed up the middle.
2. BWC is still a work in progress. You will see come fall. He will look like an all-american one play and like a MAC player the next.
3. Frank Clark and Brennan Beyer are still battling for the WDE spot. Two very good athletes, with Clark being the better athlete but Beyer being the better football player.
4. Kenny Demens being out since the 3rd practice has been a good thing for the backups. Kenny is a 4th year senior, they know what he can do, but Bolden is now getting valuable reps at Mike. They love this kids drive and ability.
5. T. Talbott is winning the DB spot over former starter JT Floyd. This means that either TT is very improved, or JT is not doing very well. I am hoping TT is just coming into his own. Black is holding down the other spot and looks to be very good.
6. Kovacs is the glue. Never going to be great but always solid. Battle for the other S spot between Marvin and Jones. Furman is in a little academic trouble right now along with Carter.
1. Denard has had a great spring. As he has Fitz go, so goes the Michigan offense.
2. WR's have been a pleasant surprise. No all americans but a solid group. Jerald Robinson is finally coming on.
3. Brandon Moore will be the TE, don't expect Koger results.
4. OL is very very solid to really good. Depth still an issue for one more year.
5. Fitz "should" be the 2nd best back in the big ten, and right now it looks like Rawls will be primary backup with V. SMith.
Recruiting.
UM is in great shape. They lead heavily for #1 RB Ty Issac. I will be very surprised if he ends up anything but Blue or USC.
UM leads heavily for 5-star LB EJ Levenberry at the moment, and 4-star LB Ben Gedoen too.
UM is finished with OL recruiting, but will look to add 1 or maybe 2 more WR.
S recruiting is wrapped up.
1 more DB is the word.
UM and OSU are doing battle for DT Henry Poggi, and Joe Mathis who is pushing 5-star status out of California was at UM yesterday and loved it.
Commit Taco Charlton killed it last week out in California and will look to add a 4th star by next eval.
Have a great summer. Take care

Peake, you'll be missed very much.
Having read the posts that attack you, I can't blame you.
Though I wish you would stick around, out of selfish desire!
Shame on those that find it nessesary to constantly ridicule a very informed member of our little forum.
A guy who was right far more than he was wrong, and a guy who gave OSU fans their most credible source of opposition.
Your always welcome in my book, and please feel free to pm me with any info you think I'll find useful!

I'm thinking about starting an insurance recruiting company. The market seems really good demographically for recruiting and placing over the next few years.
