The trade deadline has passed with no new deals by the Reds. The addition of three bullpen arms is better than nothing. Just s shame the BP did not come earlier.

That wild card not out of the question ! San Diego has a tough road down the stretch.

While the Reds improved their bullpen at the trade deadline, it can be argued Milwaukee made better moves strengthening both their offense and relief pitching. While it is mathematically possible for Cincy to catch the Brewers, the Reds best shot for the playoffs is the wild card, where they are only 4 games back of San Diego.

My math may be off but with 56 or 57 games left 10 with the giants 11 with dodgers this will go down to the wire for San Diego and the wild card ???

As of July 31, the Reds are 55-50, in second place in the NL Central, 7 games back of Milwaukee. Cincy remains 4 games back of San Diego for the last wild card playoff spot. The Reds are playing at a .524 clip and have won 6 of their last ten games.

For the month of July, the Reds were 16-10 with a .615 winning percentage. Cincy moved from third place to second and gained 1 game on the Brewers. The Reds gained 4.5 games in the wild card race.

Reds can't continue to lose games like Saturday nights game. They had the lead, 4-3 and Bell brings in Hembree, who they are saying is the closer. Instead of sticking with Hembree to finish the game, Bell brings in Doolittle, who is horrible by the way. He gives up the hit that allows the tying run to score and they lose in 10 innings. Should have never lost that game. Stick with Hembree and good chance they do win.

Reds offense is among the best in the league. They have 3 new pitchers now so start using them!!!!

These next 6 games are crucial. They need to win all 6, which is actually doable as they are facing the Twins for 2 and the Pirates for 4, all at home. They can go no worse than 5-1 if they want to contend down the stretch.

Reds sign Ender Inciarte to a minor league contract and assign him to AAA Louisville. Inciarte was recently released by the Braves. Inciarte is a good glove but possesses a weak bat. May be a good late inning defense replacement for Cincy if they call him up. At least Atlanta will eat his salary, so I am sure the Reds front office is happy.

Well as of 08/07/21, Milwaukee finally lost a game the same day Cincinnati won. The Reds are now 60-51 and 6 games back of the first place Brewers with 51 games left in the season. The Reds have a .541 winning percentage and have won 8 of their last ten contests. Cincy is 2.5 games back of the Padres for the final wild card spot. The Brewers are on a pace to win 96 games. The Reds look like they will need to go 37-14 rest of the way to catch the BrewCrew.
