Irontons line was already established as going to be better. I do credit their line.

Does the OHSAA buy your argument that these kids live out kinda outside the district? Guess what it doesn't matter, W'burg is one of the absolute highest for public schools in the entire state.
But in my opinion, having kids attend your schools their entire school life isn’t the same as getting a bunch of kids during high school like the one from valley who’s a terrific talent to play on a team for two years. He’s a proven player. He absolutely increases ironton chances of winning

Really!!! Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. At least Burg didn’t need to bring in a recruit to win a state title.
The name Waginger ring a bell there skippy!!!

What about Martin ? The pitcher from Minford.yabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 11:49 pm

The biggest difference I saw was the strength of Ironton compared to wheelersburg.

Ye, you are probably right. About how Ironton was for all of those games from around 2013 to 2018.
Let me guess, it’s the coaching isn’t it.

Cowgill and Miller both transferred in from Minford.
But Burg failed to win a state title so it’s not the same, I forgot.
Even though Ironton didn’t win a state title the last 2 years but again the narrative only fits if it’s NOT Burg.

What grade did he come to Burg? I know he was a Freshman in the Burg’s first state title game in 2012.
Re: Ironton v Burg 2020
Yes I agree burg was definitely better in those seasons . That year reminds me of what ironton has done in football recently. When players you know that can play come in.bbjunky81 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 11:51 pmRemember when Burg went to state in 06 and 07?yabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 11:49 pm

He pitched for Burg in the state championship game , and he was from Minford.yabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 11:53 pmIronmen98 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 11:50 pmWhat about Martin ? The pitcher from Minford.yabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 11:49 pm

I will enjoy the transfers. I don’t know why anyone ever went to Wheelersburg. Now they have lost their grip, it’s good to see competition again. tonight was a great night in Ironton. The dominance is back and it is spreading to multiple sports. Heck, kids might even stay at Webster and Minford now

Cam’s Dad went to Burg so I’m guessing that had something to do with him coming to Burg.
I’ll give you Cowgill but I’m guessing he came because Cam did. Next time I see him I’ll ask him why he left Minford.
Re: Ironton v Burg 2020
In today’s day and age kids/families go where they think will get little Johnny the best recognition. Loyalty isn’t really a thing anymore.
It can’t be ok for Lowery to come to Burg for “a better opportunity” and win a state title if it’s not OK for a player to transfer to Ironton to be state runner-up. I’ll never understand how you guys don’t see that.
A kid from Valley literally just drove right by Burg to get a house in Ironton and play for the Tigers…….. that says just as much about Burg right now as it does Ironton.

I know that but what year did he come to Burg and why did he leave Minford? Has anyone ever asked him why he left Minford for Burg? Was he “recruited “ to Burg?

I’m sure he probably thought he had a better opportunity playing baseball at wheelersburg as opposed to Minford .yabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 12:01 amIronmen98 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 11:55 pmHe pitched for Burg in the state championship game , and he was from Minford.yabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 11:53 pm
