Re: WK2 Athens v Gallia Academy
Last week I would have said Gallia by 2 scores. But after seeing some of the grit in the Bulldogs. I’ll say it’s a toss up. Gallia may have some edge on experience but the young dogs are just naive enough to not know they are underdogs. So.
Athens 22
GA. 20
Athens 22
GA. 20
Re: WK2 Athens v Gallia Academy
Gallia Academy had 5 starters out last week, including their center and running back.
Re: WK2 Athens v Gallia Academy
Sounds like the healthiest team will win this Friday. Gallia will have a successful season, being the big fish in a small pond helps. We should be a lock on making the playoffs and may actually win a couple of these games....

Gallia beat a good Meigs team last week in the season opener at home. I look for Gallia to be at full strength against Athens this week getting two linemen back. That will help with depth and get more experience on the field. I think GA gets up early and hangs on late and that might be a continued theme with the low numbers.

Athens has a good staff, good program. But like most schools in our area you play with the talent you have. Whether they are 10-0 or 5-5, they’ll do things right .

I read last night they will be making a decision on the football game this morning, which is ridiculous.
The boys don't use buses for home games, there should be absolutely no reason to cancel tonight's game.

I won't be going to the game so it doesn't matter to me what you all decide to do. Who is behind this mask mandate? So if someone goes to the game they must bring a mask, if to many people show up you will be ordered to wear the mask. Seriously, you think that is going to work? And what happens if people don't comply, will you arrest them?

Third senior class that will be affected by Rona. We are fortunate our elders weren’t this selfish when asked to sacrifice for war efforts. Freedom comes at a price, ours is minimal compared to previous generations. Nobody is asking us to go without food or to storm a beach, just get a shot. Sorry but the reasonable excuses expired 6 months ago. Thank you to those prior who have seen true sacrifice.

They have masks if you forgot one. Just don't be like that crackhead from Mariettasuperblue wrote: Fri Aug 27, 2021 8:04 am I won't be going to the game so it doesn't matter to me what you all decide to do. Proud of the Blue last week. Dig deep when the tank appeared to be running empty. Not sure what Athens brings to the table but if the Devils build on those last 2 defensive stops last week we are a tough matchup for the Bulldogs.
Especially proud of #63. As a very young man he showed excellent natural football skills and played with an old school style. Past three seasons I know it has been killing him to not be on the field every snap. He kept working hard and stuck with it and last Friday made a huge impact on the game. Dedication pays off. Great job Collin! True leader in a time when kids quit over playing time rather than work harder.
