Week 4 Jackson @ Western Brown

[3rd String]

Should be another interesting week. Tri-Valley came to town a throwing team, and had to try and run the ball. Jackson has a very physical fast secondary. Across the board I would say this is the most athletic secondary Jackson has had in a very long time, if not ever. Seniors Prater and Blankenship have proven themselves, Karagosian seems to put himself in the right spots to make big plays. Add in a couple not so average sophomores in Wolford and Broermann, and you have a pretty solid secondary. Jackson's D has proven they can handle the run, last week in my mind they were solid against the pass, and friday night they can solidify that they can stop the pass. Ill take Jackson 35-17. Even great defenses give up a big play now and then.

I hope to see a lot cleaner game with regards to penalties and turnovers for the Ironmen. If that happens, I think we can run away with it early. Go Big Red!!

Might be the choice of attack to keep WB offense off the field and give them something they don’t want any part of….but not sure if he’s fully healthy. He might get 25 carries…he might get 6…..he might make 20 passes. We’ll have to see.

Ironton did beat Jackson on the scoreboard after 4 quarters but let’s be honest, it was a last play miracle and ironton was physically dominated in the second half. Still won though so that’s all that matters

He needs to get some time behind center but I’m not sure if this is the weekend to do it. I don’t think WB plays defense so the run game should be where it’s at. I liked the way #8 ran the ball last week he looked like a different player totally than the ironton game. I thought he had to be hurt something was not right. He needs to hold on to the football this week. I’d like to see him have a breakout game. We need to get #7 healthy.

Another thing that Concerns me is the down field blocking. We have some players that are taking off plays. You block to the echo of the whistle. Several 10 yard gains could have been touchdowns because of one guy taking the play off. Ironmen don’t ever walk on the field. You go 100% if your tired coach will get someone else in. These are the little things that make good teams great. So get your butts downfield and make a play. I’m sure you all have watched film and you know who you are. let’s clean that stuff up and go out there and hang 100 on that scoreboard tomorrow night.
