Week 1: OSU vs Miami
The long boring summer is over, and it's now game week!
I've been quiet, but checking in. Got a promotion at work that has left little time for anything else.
Good news is I'm settling in, and should be back up to speed soon.
Better news is GAME WEEK!!!
OSU brings a new offense, one that averaged a snap every 22 seconds in the first quarter of the spring game, when they were much more green.
The defense looks to establish that they have THE BEST D Line in the conference.
So much to look forward to, and so much unknown.
I'm more excited for kickoff than I have been in awhile.
Spread opened at OSU -23.
I'd take the Bucks to cover.
My prediction.
OSU: 45
Miami: 10

Re: Week 1: OSU vs Miami
Some speculation that with Meyer's new offense, Miller may go for 2,000 yards passing and 1,000 rushing.
I expect that or more next year and senior year, but if he can hit those numbers this year it would be huge!
I think more around 2,000 passing and 650 rushing.
Just because the running back position is very deep.

I think Meyer will have this team focused every game, every snap. Each game is their conference championship and national championship game. The only weakness right now is at MLB but I think the group they have now will step up big. Good thing is that the D line is so solid a mediocre LB group can be effective.
Any word on Nathan Williams and when he will be back? Jordan Hall?

Re: Week 1: OSU vs Miami
Curtis Grant has made major strides at MLB, the linebackers will be fine.
The O-Line will determine the ultimate success this year.
They replace a ton of starts, and frankly weren't very good.
We'll see how different S&C coaching and O-Line coaching has changed the crap they've fielded for nearly a decade!
Another highly questionable spot is at WR. Stoneburner is matchup hell, and Philly Brown would make for a solid #2 on most teams, but overall it is the weakest spot on the team.

Re: Week 1: OSU vs Miami
Due to inexperience and wholesale tactical and cultural changes by the new coaching staff, the Buckeyes struggle to a 27-17 victory over Miami Univesity at Oxford.
Great things lie ahead in OSU's football future but that success will not happen instantly. 2012 lays the foundation.

I think 28-35 is the amount of points OSU scores, but I dont see them giving up 17 in this game.

Man I'm so glad college football is finally here! I've going through withdrawals!
Very excited to see what's in store for this young new and the new look under Meyer! Should be a very interesting and fun year! I've got tickets to 3 games this season and ready for some nice fall Saturdays in the shoe!
My prediction is OSU 38 Miami 10
Go bucks!

Bri'onte Dunn is the #2 RB for this week.
When Hall is back, he'll move to #3.

Bradley Roby will be the punt returner.
He is the fastest guy on the team, and has ran the 40 in the 4.3's
He is as fast in a straight line as Ted Ginn was.

Not always a good team. Florida has led the country two years in a row in playing the most true freshman. See where that got us...seofan_via_dublin wrote:The OSU two deep roster includes 14 freshmen and only 8 seniors.
For the record, I know that stat above is true in Urban's last year. 98% sure of it last year.

Very excited to see the beginning of the Urban Meyer era at OSU.......very interested to see how the offense, the O line and D line look. Supposedly the O line has improved a lot since the spring.
