Trimble (3-0) @ John Marshall (2-1)

Trimble travels to take on John Marshall, class AAA (division II). Thoughts?

Last time I ran it Trimble was a 3 point favorite, 31-28. But those mean nothing come game time, fun to play around with though!

Interesting. Should be a good game nonetheless. Looks like they have some nice facilities.

May be a stupid question, but with John Marshall being a WV school, will the Cats score any points towards the playoffs for this game if the can get the W?

Yes, out of state games count towards playoff points as long as the team they are playing is in the states athletic association. This will get us a lot of points if we win.

JM is the largest school in WV last I checked. They’re located directly across the river from Shadyside. Their program is turning in the right direction but I would give Trimble the edge by atleast 2 TDs

The way out-of-state points work, this win would be huge for Trimble (not that they need it). John Marshall’s enrollment translates to Division II in Ohio. So EVERY win that JM gets (if Trimble beats them) gives Trimble D-II 2nd level points. Ohio doesn’t waste time trying to figure out how big everyone else on JM’s schedule is.

Appreciate that! “TrimbleFootball2011” helped me out also. Had no clue how out of state games would benefit or hurt us.

Just looked up where exactly John Marshall is, and it says it’s a 2 hour and 9 minute bus ride. Ouch. Good luck Cats! I’ll have to catch that one on a radio station. Hopefully someone covers it.

I looked into it also out of boredom, and the site I checked them on, they are ranked 20th among WV public schools. Regardless, if Trimble can come away with a win, it’ll be huge!

Actually the largest school in Wva is Cabell Midland this is the one Jackson played a few years back over 1900 students.

Either way. I’m just letting everyone know here JM isn’t a marquee program. They have some good people in place and are trending in the right direction along with one of the most magnificent facilities in the valley but they’re a few years away and lower to middle of the pack of OVAC competition

But, if they win 4 games before the close of playoff points, it’s essentially like beating a 7-win D7 school when it comes to secondary points because their wins are worth nearly twice the amount as if Trimble were to play someone in their own division.

JM is not the largest school. Lol

Should be an intresting matchup to say the least.

We will be covering the game on Power 105.5FM or wxtq.com

JM is not even a top 10 in West Virginia. It's about the same size as point pleasant...
