Don’t see them agreeing to a game. PHS losing to a small Ohio school year would not sit well. FF would beat them both pretty bad this year in my opinion. South might, but I wouldn’t count on it.EasternDspy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 1:31 pmI think we should play them both if they are interested.Buckeye2021 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 1:24 pmHave you guys talked to Parkersburg and southEasternDspy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 1:22 pm

You’ll never get better if you don’t challenge yourself once in a while. Some of these schools should play FF once in a while to show your team what it takes to get to their level. But expecting FF to challenge themselves every week while driving 2 to 3 hours each game is not realistic. Their are 51 teams in the OVAC and FF can only get 2 games on their schedule, ( 1 says they are dropping them next year) is mind boggling. FF is right in the middle of school size in the OVAC, 25 schools smaller, and 25 larger schools. FFs enrollment is 261, compare to WARRENS 517(smallest of 5As 11 teams) up to Morgantown with an enrollment of 1436.

I don’t know why teams like Bellaire , Martins Ferry , Barnesville , St Clairsville, and Shadyside don’t wanna play Fort Frye?
Re: 2021 Trimble 13 - 45 Fort Frye
St. Clairsville would I’d think. They’re one of the top tier programs in the Valley, not sure why they’d be scared to play a D6.EasternDspy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 5:58 pmFanatic wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 3:14 pm You’ll never get better if you don’t challenge yourself once in a while. Not saying they are scared but Buckeye 8 does not seem interested in playing Fort Frye.

More than likely st c doesn't want to play down 2 divisions.EasternDspy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 7:12 pmbeg003 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 6:10 pmSt. Clairsville would I’d think. Actually st c pretty easy, 80 minutes at most. Actually closer than river, shadyside, and others along ohio river. But I'm sure it also plays into saying no for sureBuckeye2021 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 7:23 pmOr the drive every other year when the can get games closerFf3233 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 7:20 pmMore than likely st c doesn't want to play down 2 divisions.EasternDspy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 7:12 pm

Sad thing is that we've had some of the so called "good" small schools up in that area on the schedule. Steubenville CC, wheeling central, and others. But it lasts for 2 years then they don't renew. Playing a ridgewood type opponent every week is not good for us. Hell we might be without our 2 ilbs again this week due to injury. One vs zanesville and one vs warren. Just tough to play those type schools week end and week out with so many 2 way players
Re: 2021 Trimble 13 - 45 Fort Frye
Just looked at their schedule and they seem to stay in the valley. Don’t see them wanting to travel 2 hours to play a school 2 divisions smaller when there’s plenty of teams up there to play. Just my take.EasternDspy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 7:12 pmbeg003 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 6:10 pmSt. Clairsville would I’d think. Re: 2021 Trimble 13 - 45 Fort Frye
I guess the problem I see asking a team like FF to play up every week is things come and go at "most d6 schools" not at all of them but the vast majority of them. The talent is always going to be there, and if FF gets a team that is just decent, driving 2 hours to play a D2 or d3 school is a large ask. The shoe will eventually be on the other foot in some games, and if that is the case then it hurts your program.
FF has had great success so far, and I am sure it will continue, but playing games close to home also helps revenue and drives excitement for the student body. Not many people are doing to drive hours away to watch a football game.

Re: 2021 Trimble 13 - 45 Fort Frye
Doesn't make much sense. Why not play Fort Frye and see where you are at as a program? But again it comes down to these teams being able to get local teams near them while the only schools in this area willing to play the Cadets are Warren and Waterford. Marietta never playing Fort Frye has always been an interesting dilemma in my opinion.EasternDspy wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 5:58 pmFanatic wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 3:14 pm You’ll never get better if you don’t challenge yourself once in a while. This thread has turned into a Fort Frye thread only... Gane was played about a week ago.
Lets close this thread, and get on to the FF--LCC game.
This will give the Trimble folks a bit of a rest.

This is what typically happens when a Hocking team gets over confidence and steps out of the comforts of the league to test the waters of the good teams. Gotta give it to Trimble though they stepped out twice this year and got beat back to the Hocking both times but they gave it a shot.
Steelers - Blue Devils - Eagles

More than you can say about the ohio teams. Other than NY the ohio won't play anybodySteegal wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 1:53 pm This is what typically happens when a Hocking team gets over confidence and steps out of the comforts of the league to test the waters of the good teams. Nah. Trimble folks are just laughing about Johnny come lately acting like they invented football. It's hilarious.
Re: 2021 Trimble 13 - 45 Fort Frye
Are you referring to ff as johnny come lately? If so that's funny. Just be happy last year's game was canceled. Only saving grace for you is that our head coach doesn't run up the score.
