Burg vs Valley
Re: Burg vs Valley
Burg needs to come in and step on the gas and get out of there. Can't feel as though you've got the league wrapped up and then find yourself in a tight 4th quarter war with Valley. Work on that passing game, score some ( offensive ) touchdowns and then get your boys out of there.
Burg by 4 scores

Wheelersburg is 39-5 all time vs. Valley.
Valley’s wins have come in 1962, 1964, 2011, 2012, and 2013. Valley has been shutout 16 times in the series history.
On a very positive note for Valley, here’s there’s season record when beating Wheelersburg:

Re: Burg vs Valley
Walking out of Waverly 10 days ago (even though Valley had lost 42-14) I thought to myself "they will battle Burg". They won't win, but they will compete. Wheelersburg isn't near as explosive on offense as they have been. They are still legit on defense but Valley will string some things together. I thought I could see Burg winning a 24-14 or even 28-10 type game. Never really in doubt but still competitive.
Friday night Valley gave up a long play on a not so good pass when the game was 14-14. That made it 20-14 late in the 2nd quarter. Valley responded and started a drive. On 4th and a yard at about the West 30, they had the first down but didn't execute. West busts another big play. 26-14. Valley (for the 3rd time this season) didn't cover the kickoff to start the 2nd half and the rout was on. For the first time this season, I seen the Valley kids quit. Not a good look but it happens with 15-18 year old kids.
Having said all of that, it will be gut check time this week for the Indians. If they show up, they can compete. Can they win? Probably not. Not enough depth. But if they come out and play with passion and pride, they can make it a competitive game.

Re: Burg vs Valley
BURG coming off a very emotional win with a rivalry game next week that will be a battle. Add in Valley's passion, coaching and it being a home game for them and it could make for a tense game. Trap game for BURG?

Re: Burg vs Valley
Anything is possible. Valley always plays Burg tough and I look for this year to be no different.
Burg can't get caught looking ahead to week 10 or it could bite them in the butt.
Re: Burg vs Valley
Valley will play hard, but Burg will wear them down. Going through this gauntlet will help Valley come playoff time if they can stay healthy! Good Luck to the Indians friday night!

Feed the Lattimores!! Those boys can run and they compliment each other with 2 being the hard runner and 16(?) being the qucik change of pace
A Kicker of various balls. Trust The Process
Re: Burg vs Valley
Burgs offensive identity is definitely the run game but if they want to make noise in the tournament, they will have to complete some passes. Hopefully they can try to work on that in this game.
Re: Burg vs Valley
I ask posters to refrain from digression and speculation on the reference to the coach from burg. The decision is between those involved and them alone. Please focus on thoughts on the actual game.

Re: Burg vs Valley
Between the changes in coaching and the weather forecast...we could see a very interesting game. I am going to go with valley with the upset by 3.

Anyone know why the game hasn't started yet? Is it storming there?
