Week 10: Warren (3-6) @ Marietta (3-6)
Week 10: Warren (3-6) @ Marietta (3-6)
Might as well get this one started a little early. Rivalry game so you know both teams will be ready to go. My guess is Warren wins by a couple of scores after watching MHS/Cambridge tonight, but I hope I’m wrong. Thoughts? Predictions?

Don’t see Marietta being able to do much offensively. Their offense is run heavy like VC and we had some success against them defensively. Warren’s non-league schedule overall has been stronger as well. I’d say the couple score prediction is pretty accurate. That said, I think we’ve turned the corner for a while against Marietta.

Warren by couple TDs. 2 bad teams, but a young Warren team has a future.
Re: Week 10: Warren (3-6) @ Marietta (3-6)
Marietta problem is Coach Shawn TAylor’s play calling.he is the best and savviest. Coach Schoub is a class act and has a miserable schedule.

Agreed. Marietta just doesn't have the playmakers this year. The only success we have had offensively came on the ground against teams we were able to bully (Athens, Ripley, team from DC). Just don't see us being able to do that as effectively against Warren. Also think Warren will be able to put up some points on our defense.beg003 wrote: Sat Oct 16, 2021 12:05 am Don’t see Marietta being able to do much offensively. Marietta is very young as well. I believe nearly half of our starters are either Freshmen or Sophomores. From what I've heard, current eighth graders have a chance to be pretty special, so I'd say the future is bright for Marietta as well. Should be some good matchups between these two in the coming years.E High wrote: Sat Oct 16, 2021 1:18 am Warren by couple TDs. 2 bad teams, but a young Warren team has a future.

A little extra incentive for Warren to earn a spot in the playoffs with a win. Currently setting at #16, should be able to hold that spot with a win.
Re: Week 10: Warren (3-6) @ Marietta (3-6)
In these times when kids really need leadership, Marietta is fortunate to have Coach Schoub. The schedule Marietta has is a mixture of impossible and ok, but our young kids have been beat up by the tough tough teams.

Agreed. Good for both schools if this returns to a competitive rivalry game.pioneer19 wrote: Sat Oct 16, 2021 11:26 amMarietta is very young as well. One year ago today the Warriors took down John Glenn in a double OT classic!! Gives me chills to this day thinking about that game. MY OH MY what a battle it was. Those boys and that team will never be forgotten by me as long as I live, and I might have cried that night in the stands. They gave this ole boy a memory to last a lifetime!! GO BLUE!!

If warren wins it probably clinches a playoff spot for the warriors. Would be good for this team to get another week of practice and a playoff experience for these boys.
