Teams returning "varsity" experience for 2021-22 ...
Quality returning starters is a big indicator of what should be a "good season to come" at the varsity level in high school hoops. Who are the teams in SEO that will be bringing back that 2-3 quality varsity experienced players to open the upcoming 2021-22 season?
Teams that LOST a bunch and will need to "replace" the big shoes on varsity include:
Logan Elm
Warren
Fairland
New Boston
Wheelersburg
Adena
Portsmouth West
Federal Hocking
... to name a few of the higher ranked teams that have some "replacing" to do ...

Waverly. SW’s whole squad returns and then some.
Minford has Trenton Zimmerman coming back but down EVL this year. No doubt Miles Montgomery comes in and averages 20+ though

Valley returns a lot. Lost a few transfers. Gained one. But lost coach too. So we will see. Hoping for a successful year at Valley.

Portsmouth going to be real interesting to watch this year. Looks like they have size and depth. Shooting has been a struggle for the Trojans last couple of years, so hopefully there is someone in there that can shoot opposing teams out of the zone and speed games up to their advantage.*trojandave wrote: Mon Oct 18, 2021 11:49 am What returns for Portsmouth:

artvandelay: The points you brought up about the pace of play and outside shooting are spot on to what Coach Collins is emphasizing this season. He wants to play as fast as they did during the summer, when at times they looked dominating. As far as outside shooting, many teams will try to negate Portsmouth's athleticism by trying to slow them down with zone defenses. Our team, though, has probably at minimum a half dozen players who can hit the 3. In addition, this is the deepest roster for PHS in probably 10 years. On paper, all the ingredients to have a turnaround season are there.

Warren may have lost a lot of varsity experience after last year's tournament run but I know these boys and I know they'll be ready come the first game of the season. Warren basketball does not have down years, they simply reload!

Not much returning experience. Maddox has got to prove it this year he can win with lesser talent. I believe he will have some tricks up his sleeve for us.bigblue52 wrote: Wed Oct 20, 2021 8:13 pm Warren may have lost a lot of varsity experience after last year's tournament run but I know these boys and I know they'll be ready come the first game of the season. The Bearcats bring back A TON of experience, including Cordell Grubb, Dax Estep, Cole Miller, Trent Mettler, Blaine Parker, and Connor Free, all who started games for the Bearcats last year, along with Seniors Justin Hall and Brenton Ewry. They also have added Dillon McDonald from Adena, who is an all-league talent. Rumor has it that Cavan Cooper might be making an appearance on the basketball court for the Bearcats this season too.
This is one of the deepest Bearcat teams in history and it is going to be fun to see how things shake out.

PFloyd you better believe in the Winators again
Return maybe the best backcourt around in Coleman and Dixon
Sissel started a bunch of games at forward
Davis played a lot
They will be really good this year. Did really well at Findlay this summer and blew Notre Dame out all 6 quarters in a scrimmage before Daryonne Bryant went back to Portsmouth
