I was really impressed with the poise and adjustments that Coach Pendleton and his staff made during the Portsmouth game this past weekend to come back and win in a very convincing manner. Really hate that Carpenter got hurt and wish him a speedy recovery. Being state runners up the last 2 years is impressive, but let’s not settle for 2nd place anymore and go get that title. Good luck to the Tigers the entire playoffs. Go Tigers!

I hope I'm wrong but this will probably show just how much of a mismatch that we are going to see throughout the first round of these parings between a lot of these #1 and the #16 seeded teams.

I say 41-7 Ironton. Would love to see all the pre-snap penalties go away that would be great

Ironton played wellston 1st round last year or the year before and it was a complete blowout. I expect the same. 16 teams is too many bit of I’m a betting man we won’t see 8 anymore.

I have always thought Ironton was a year away from taking it the distance. The future at Ironton is really bright. The QB behind Wylie is not bad believe me. This team is only going to get better in the future. But then my crystal ball get cloudy at times.TigerMania wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 6:56 pm I was really impressed with the poise and adjustments that Coach Pendleton and his staff made during the Portsmouth game this past weekend to come back and win in a very convincing manner. Ironton is 21-8-2 all time vs Wellston, including the playoffs. The last time Wellston won a game against Ironton was 1968. Ironton can say that Wellston hasn’t beaten them since NASA put a on the moon.

Got a few relatives in the Wellston area. I want to wish them a safe trip down 93 and best of luck against the Fighting Tigers of Ironton. I also want to wish #19 Matt Sheridan the best. Kick a bunch through for ole Pap.Jason Vorhees wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 7:20 am Ironton is 21-8-2 all time vs Wellston, including the playoffs. Ironton definitely has a ton of talent coming up 6th-8th grade will have a ton of skilled position players that will be pretty good I believeRiverRatRay wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 7:03 amI have always thought Ironton was a year away from taking it the distance. Tough draw for the Rockets.RiverRatRay wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 8:26 amGot a few relatives in the Wellston area. Also, as for driving down 93, bypass to Burg and up to Itown, is about the same amount of travel time but a whole lot easier drive.

Good thing there’s a running clock. Wellston is not as good as what they were last year.
Re: Week 11: #16 (5-5) Wellston @ #1 (9-1) Ironton
Wellston overachieved with a 5-5 record and finished third in TVC. It is a young team and like many teams in the region faced a lot of obstacles this season They earned the 16 seed, I am pretty sure not many teams want to play Ironton. It is a mismatch. Wellston kids will give their best to represent their school.
It is an honor to play in Tank Stadium. Unless a miracle happens for Wellston, I hope Ironton wins the state championship
The last really good game with Ironton was at Wellston. Ironton was ahead 12-6 when time ran out for the Rockets first and goal behind the running of Tony Grey @1975.
