Re: Can we get a league to take Logan?
Logan isn’t going to the MSL. Their future league prospects are directly tied to Teays Valley as a package deal.

Mvl just expanded last year and has a 10 year freeze. Would love for Fort Frye to join.

Leagues in the area will not take Logan with the thinking they will be back.
You could start with Athens, Logan, Marietta, Vinton Cty and Warren to start with.

Re: Can we get a league to take Logan?
VC and Athens want no part of Logan and they've proven that by not allowing them into the TVC. VC is afraid of the competition and Athens is an infamous cut-n-run school. Marietta and Warren would be great but can't get them with out a few others to join. Most of the other schools that make sense are also scared of competition.
Re: Can we get a league to take Logan?
Been throwing this out there to people for a while now. Also wondering if there aren’t some schools in the OVAC who have no other conference affiliation and/or some WV schools where the conferences can be very loosely organized that might be enough to get something together.EasternDspy wrote: Thu Oct 28, 2021 4:31 pm Logan , Fort Frye , Warren and Marietta need to form something
Logan is a bit of an outlier if you go toward WV, but could you find 1 or 2 schools willing to get the benefit of consistent scheduling and all-league honors for their kids in exchange for a couple long trips a year? Certainly with some of the smaller sports, you could creatively schedule to limit the travel. Longest basketball trip always on a Saturday, doubleheaders or tri games, matches on a weekend for things like volleyball & baseball, etc.
Also, I’d say if they scrapped something together now with a handful of teams and really focused on promoting teams and kids for all sports, some other schools might have some interest. Like a weekly digital media guide/website that includes info/stats for every school and even the minor sports where people could keep up with the league happenings and see their kids getting some press. Have some high school kids as reps for each school to submit content (from their media classes, etc.).
Re: Can we get a league to take Logan?
No one in SE Ohio is afraid of Logan - are you high? Your winning percentage over the last 5-6 years is like 28%.Paladin ` wrote: Fri Oct 29, 2021 11:51 am VC and Athens want no part of Logan and they've proven that by not allowing them into the TVC. For VC, it started when Logan didn’t want them in the SEOAL. Logan said no back then, VC said sorry, no thanks, today.Paladin ` wrote: Fri Oct 29, 2021 11:51 am VC and Athens want no part of Logan and they've proven that by not allowing them into the TVC. I like the Logan, Marietta,Warren and Fort Frye league though. Add a possible Parkersburg school and you have a nice little conference there for the short term.

Re: Can we get a league to take Logan?
The bottom line is Logan's enrollment is too high for SE Ohio and too geographically isolated from central Ohio school's with similar enrollment.Dandy Don wrote: Fri Oct 29, 2021 1:22 pm No one in SE Ohio is afraid of Logan - are you high? I'm not saying anyone is "afraid" - but most SE Ohio school's have said they don't want Logan due to their enrollment.
Re: Can we get a league to take Logan?
If no one is afraid of what Logan can be at anytime, why don't these league ask them to join.. Oh I forgot gas is too high. LOL -Over the years teams left the SEOAL due to not being able to win against the bigger schools. At the time when they had 10 teams from Zanesville North to Ironton South. Athens wasn't winning, Zanesville wasn't as good as they had been, Chillicothe wasn't doing what they hoped they would do when coming into a smaller league, Portsmouth wasn't the power they had been and Ironton was down from their standards. Logan and Jackson at the time were the big boys of the SEOAL. Warren wasn't winning, but they stayed because to them football wasn't everything. Just remember the big boys along with Warren were the last to go. With this being said it shows 6 of the 7 losers left first -----because of gas prices.

I would like to see VC and Logan play in the jamboree game. Great gate for both teams. Also, could be a preview of a possible non conference game down the line.loganlocos wrote: Fri Oct 29, 2021 3:31 pmThe bottom line is Logan's enrollment is too high for SE Ohio and too geographically isolated from central Ohio school's with similar enrollment.Dandy Don wrote: Fri Oct 29, 2021 1:22 pm No one in SE Ohio is afraid of Logan - are you high?
