I could get on board with this. Definitely better than nothing. PHS and South both have stable leagues though, so don’t see them wanting to leave.

Yeah not sure several of the schools on my list would have much interest. Just what I personally would like to see happen since it doesn’t look like we are going to have a league to join (other than the OVAC) for the foreseeable future.

I don't understand why H.S. SE Ohio Conferences and schools cannot get together and figure out size and competition and actually form new leagues that would benefit all the student athletes. Throw out League Loyalty. LOL
College teams have been jumping around like crazy the past 10 years. Why not start some new conferences around here: Perfect Example is a NEW Southern Ohio Conference:

Big Division (call it whatever you want)

Jackson , Waverly , Unioto, Ironton, Wheelersburg, Chillicothe, Gallia Academy

Middle Division

Valley , Minford, Oak Hill, West, Piketon, Northwest , Southeastern, Portsmouth, River Valley

Small Division

East, Notre Dame, South Webster, Symmes, Eastern Pike, Western, ISJoe , Clay, South Gallia

It would just take a couple of schools to get on board and push for it and make a pitch to the other schools. No doubt many of these schools would go in a heartbeat. Some just need to think outside the box.

In the Big division, you’re sending burg and ironton to Chillicothe twice in a season not to mention Gallia and Waverly. Then the next year it’s reversed. Football is the only sport that works in.

With the bypass, it’s a lot easier to get from ironton to chillicothe than ironton to gallipolis.

this gives all
teams plenty of non conference games to play while giving kids opportunity to compete in a conference.

all these schools have great facilities and no drive longer than 75 minutes

You left out New Boston Glenwood and Green. I would push Portsmouth up to the first level and South Webster and Eastern Pike to the middle level.

You couldn't move Eastern Pike up in that scenario they'd never win a conference game in football.

I was thinking basketball because he had included South Webster, St.Joe, Clay, etc. Eastern could stay where they are for football but put them up like they are for basketball and other sports.
