Congrats to the Trojans on winning their first playoff game since 2002 Time for the REMATCH!
Re: Round 1 : #9 Portsmouth (7-3) @ #8 Zane Trace (8-2)
Zane Trace turnovers and Portsmouth special teams were the difference. PHS special teams deserve a steak at the Ribber. Especially #9.

Turnovers and special teams killed Zt tonight. Zt’s defense held Portsmouth offense in check for the most part. Portsmouth scores all came after Zt turnovers with a short field. Portsmouth’s speed was a problem all night especially on special teams. Congrats to Zt on a great season. Congrats to Portsmouth on a well deserved win and give Ironton all you got!

Portsmouth's speed on defense has been the difference maker for us. Our dbs can close the gaps on receivers and get picks and our guys seem to always win the foot race to the ball when it hits the ground. They give up yardage but usually not a lot of points.

One of Portsmouth's best weapons, #4 Carr, was hurt early in the 1st and didn't get back in after that. It really showed when the Trojans were facing a second and long or 3rd and short and Carr wasn't available to make big plays as he does. Great effort by both teams and I'm looking forward to this rematch. Trojans showed us that they can do it. They just have to play 4 quarters of football and not get down after a few mistakes. Glad to have our first playoff win in quite a while.

Re: Round 1 : #9 Portsmouth (7-3) @ #8 Zane Trace (8-2)
Portsmouth took advantage of Zane Trace mistakes.
PHS also had some huge special teams plays on the night. Block FG returned to the 3, two big KO returns (TD), fumble/scoop for a TD on a kickoff.
It was an entertaining game to watch as the Pioneers moved the ball on offense. 31-22 going to the 4th.

Any update on the injured Zane trace kid? It looked really bad and from the Portsmouth side it looked like the trainers were checking his hands for movements. He finally got up but he was hurt. I hope the kid is ok.
