Burg 24 Wood 20 2021 Playoffs Wheelersburg Ridgewood

Post by The Nature Boy »

This should be an interesting matchup. Ridgewood has had the Burg's number the past couple years. Both are playing well. I don't know if playing on grass will affect the Burg but as past posters have said, they both will be playing on the same field Saturday night. Thoughts?

That is if top 4 seeds still get a 2nd home game. I haven't heard of any changes so far.

Higher seed gets a home game in week 12. So yes it will be at Ridgewood.

Neutral sites start week 13.

I went to ridgewood 3 years ago to watch Portsmouth my sons senior year. Man it’s a haul but the field is absolutely beautiful. Grass that looks like turf. The town seems to really support the team. Everywhere we stopped we saw signs and people wearing ridgewood gear. This game comes down to tingle. Is he healthy? If not burg can win this and see a week 13 match vs Portsmouth. ( I am praying Portsmouth wins so had to throw that in)

That was 2 years ago in 19 when Wood/Portsmouth met in the 1st round. Last night Tingle looked as close as he has been to being 100 percent since before the injury in Week 3.

That’s right. 2 years ago. 3 was Madison. Time got away from me.

It’s amazing how tingle doesn’t have anyone near the line or weapons that he had last year and still can control the game. Wood defense still good. Burg needs to be mistake free. I think burgs defense can contain tingle in spurts. Burgs magical score to win is 21.

#2 #4 #9 and #7 seem to be the playmakers for ridgewood they seem to be more dangerous when tingle can make plays running the ball to open up the passing game more. But that’s dangerous with tingle just getting healthy running the ball and taking more hits.

Burg 24 Wood 14
I watched the replay of wood/ready last night, and I think the wood defensive line will struggle vs burg. I believe burg will effectively run the ball on Ridgewood. Good luck to the Burg!

I agree with your assessment. I also think that burg will give ridgewood oline fits with their d line. I believe that’s where garaway won the game. Tingle is good for leading for 2 scores. If burg can take care of the ball, I can see them leaving with a win.

Watched a couple Ridgewood games this week and came away believing the winner of last nights game would beat Ridgewood. Ridgewood is down on size from the last 2 years. Power rushing will cause them problems. Offensively if you can contain Tingle at all you will stop Ridgewood. I think Wheelersburg wins rather easily

Two great programs and coaches who have become very familiar with each other the last 10 years or so. I believe wheelersburg can win this game if they hit Tingle a few times and make him think twice about running because to me that’s where he is more dangerous he throws well but the offense really goes when he is running around wether it’s a designed run or pass which turns to a scramble that’s where they need to contain him to win I believe. I won’t pick a score but whoever wins I think it will be low scoring like last year
