Irontons new indoor field and training facility coming in 2022

Post by XandOs »

At Breakfast this morning at BigBoy. Was told by a good source that Tank stadium will be getting major renovations done by next year and that The Indoor training facility will be breaking ground in early 2022. The indoor will have a hall of fame enshrinement area, a giant training facility modeled after major college programs, indoor practice football field, locker rooms, film rooms, wrestling room, baseball/softball hitting nets, I personally can’t wait to see all the great things happening in Ironton. I feel this a game changer for SEO and Ironton athletic dept. Kudos to Administration and everyone involved for making this happen for the kids of Ironton.

That’s awesome. How will the fund this? Tax levy?

What I was told funding is already in place. The date has been set for construction and everything is a go.

Not sure on Basketball courts. I do know Ironton already has two gyms at HS. The Facility is going where the tennis courts and old city pool use to be. They will also be building new tennis courts. Ironton is making a financial commitment to its athletic programs and I expect they will reap the benefits.

Most tax levies in Ohio probably only pass because of the new sports facilities

Wow! I also can not wait to see it. Just wondering how they pulled off the financial commitment this requires? This is great for Ironton!

These multi-purpose athelic complexes/fieldhouses are not out of the norm for Ohio high schools. Several have been built at schools around the state. All the way from D1-D7

To bad all the true Ironton players will lose out to out of towners. All that or Just for a few football games, I think all local teams should quit playing them let them go to greater heights. Who really cares.

If the local teams quit playing Ironton they would lose their biggest gate of the season.
