From a parent at the scrimmage:

Waverly Tigers Basketball

First scrimmage: We played five 12 minute sessions and went 5-0. We beat some good teams…Old Fort, Rossford, Afrocentric, West Carrollton and Chaminade Juliane!
All In!!

Going to be exciting to watch this season. I'm thinking Waverly should be the favorite to win the conference, and the region.
Re: WAVERLY TIGERS 2021-2022
They won’t win the region, but they’ll be very good
The schedule might give them a tougher road to a district title even, but they should win that too

Brother. Heck of an athlete. He will be a key contributor this year I’d say. Had a very nice freshman football campaign starting at LB. Extremely competitive and not scared of the moment. The Ghost of Swanker wrote: Sun Nov 21, 2021 6:46 pm Is the other Robertson boy a cousin or a brother? He was ballin at the preview

Why would the schedule give them a tougher road to a district title?HamPorter wrote: Sun Nov 21, 2021 1:33 pm They won’t win the region, but they’ll be very good

Losing some of those games should not hurt their seeding - every coach in the district knows what kind of schedule that is. Playing those teams (most on the road) will prepare them for the tourney.
I don’t think losing in OT to Heath last year hurt their seeding. Losing to West at home however did cost them a couple spots.
Re: WAVERLY TIGERS 2021-2022
Yes, he lead the Tiger defense in tackles and was just a beast as a freshman. He also handled some kicking and punting duties at different times. May see some RB and/or TE next year.MasterOfNone wrote: Sun Nov 21, 2021 6:52 pmBrother. Heck of an athlete. He will be a key contributor this year I’d say. I would think playing this schedule should only help their seeding.

Strength of schedule is rarely, if ever, considered when coaches vote.smurray wrote: Sun Nov 21, 2021 7:38 pmWhy would the schedule give them a tougher road to a district title?HamPorter wrote: Sun Nov 21, 2021 1:33 pm They won’t win the region, but they’ll be very good

This is the year for waverly. Hopefully they can get to the final four. Have all the pieces in place.
