D5 State Championship Kirtland vs Versailles
Re: D5 State Championship Kirtland vs Versailles
So impressed by kirtlands dominant run but hoping for a new champion.
Re: D5 State Championship Kirtland vs Versailles
I still think Ironton was the best team out of 19 and 20. Injuries and Turnovers killed their season.

Kirtland by running clock. Harvest prep only lost by 6 to Versailles
Operation Iraqi freedom 3. Sadr city/ eastern Baghdad 2005
Re: D5 State Championship Kirtland vs Versailles
Both will do it. We’ve been pretty lucky to stay healthy except for our kicker but we got him back a few weeks ago. Few turnovers tonight but it was slick in the snow

Couldn’t agree more even though I think Kirtland ultimately wins to me Ironton had the best team of these two regions.
no competition don't gotta compete, I'm already winning this isn't defeat

I hope it’s that easy but idkBeergogglebluez wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 9:51 pm Kirtland by running clock. Harvest prep only lost by 6 to Versailles

Burg had three starters hurt in ironton game. Burg proved ironton wasn’t the best in the region. I think prep deserves credit for their run and Versailles credit for beating them. Versailles barely lost to Marion local who just cruised into to the d7 state championship.MrFirstTake wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 9:55 pmCouldn’t agree more even though I think Kirtland ultimately wins to me Ironton had the best team of these two regions.

I give Prep tons of credit. They played Versailles a lot harder than I thought they would. I thought Versailles would run away with it. I don’t look for Versailles to be a pushover at all. I heard Versailles had that ML game won but gave up some kind of crazy run back at the end or somethingwobycat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 10:19 pmBurg had three starters hurt in ironton game. That all sounds good but doesn’t change my mindwobycat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 10:19 pmBurg had three starters hurt in ironton game. Burg proved ironton wasn’t the best in the region. They are very good. Very sound football team. Really good defense and offense line. I think they give kirtland a good game but my gut says the hornets because of their head coach. Just has an amazing intuition when calling plays.NEO80 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 10:23 pmI give Prep tons of credit. They played Versailles a lot harder than I thought they would. If ironton had the best team, they’d be playing in the state championship.

Kirtland defeats another orange and black team for a state championship.

Tigers as well. 3rd year in a row. Hopefully third time is not a charmBigBlueNation wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 10:38 pm Kirtland defeats another orange and black team for a state championship.

Versailles is 14-1 this year. Their wins are against teams with a combined 81-82. Their only loss was against 15-0 Marion Local. Versailles is 52-13 in the playoffs all time. This is their 13 State Semifinal Appearance and 10 State Championship Appearance, with Championships in 1990, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1998, and 2003. Runners up in 1988, 1996, and 2004. 6 State Championships and even the second best overall record in the MAC for State Championships.
Kirtland is going for consecutive win number 55 and State Championship number 7.
Both of these schools, and the MAC have something in common. They don’t just expect to get to the state championship, they expect to win it.
#77 for Versailles is a monster. He’s listed as 6’4” and 275 lbs. and every bit of it. This Versailles team is gritty.
Kirtland is hard-hitting, athletic, and swarm to the ball. #20, 25, 15, and 2 look like studs. If need be, Kirtland also has a very competent kicker. They’ll lull you to sleep on offense and make you bite on the play-action. Defensively, they’ll make you make mistakes. If Versailles is going to win this game, they’ll have to make it like the 46-42 thriller Minster had against Kirtland.
