Hocking College wins first-ever football game

ADA — The first game for Hocking College was a winning one.

Hocking College won in its program debut, beating Ohio Northern’s JV team 35-14 on Monday.

The first touchdown in Hawks’ history was scored by Tyrin Williams on a 6-yard run in the first quarter. It helped Hocking College lead 28-0 at halftime.

Keandre Powell scored the final touchdown of the game, a 35-yard pass from quarterback Darius Strickland.

The Hocking College Hawks — Ohio’s first junior college program — play at Mount St. Joseph next Tuesday. Their home opener is September 14 against Wright State at Nelsonville-York’s Boston Field.

I went to a college jv game one time at Virginia tech. a dear friend of mine had a son on fork union military academy's team. and they played the tech jv team. it was pretty cool. I went up with them.
