Who are all the girls who have scored 1000 points in vc girls history?

I believe it’s Erica Hayes (Zinn), Tori Dixon, Heather Braden (Hayes), Teresa Boring, Morgan Bentley, Michaela Puckett, Cassie Bentley and now Tegan Bartoe. May be missing someone though.

Teresa Boring and maybe Caitlyn Owings. Boring had 1500+ points.

Bentley is the all time girls leading scorer with 1550 she surplassed Erica Hayes

After doing some research and talking to the AD this is what we found out

Any chance you can get the total points for each one of them? Boring had 1500 points in January of 1986 according to a Vinton County courier article.

I will work on it with the AD and anyone else who has the official stats but I am unsure of what article/source that this information is coming from. Erica Hayes has been the leader for many years at 1342 and Morgan Bentley had broke Hayes record this past season with 1532.

Just reading this post. How can someone have 1500 points and not be recognized for it? If that is the case, that is unacceptable for any school.

Teresa Boring only played 75 games in HS. Her career point total is officially 1,099.
Caitlyn Owings; Am not sure she scored 1,000 points in her career, but I do not think she did. She is a member of the Coaching staff so she can work with the AD to straighten that out.
Cameron Zinn is now a 1,000 point scorer.

To: Drippy96: The article in the paper you referred to was unfortunate and was an injustice to Teresa as it was simply not accurate. Teresa is one of VC's best athletes and player, but scoring 1500 points in a 75-game career would mean she needed to average 20 points for every game she played to reach the 1500 mark. Records show that the listed 1500 points in the article simply was not the case. No controversy here. Coach Dave Bolender completed research on the history of the VC Girl's basketball program and recorded all of the stats, year by year. They show games played and points scored for each player. The results are documented and published in a book/binder which many now have, including the VC Athletic Department. For Teresa, the report shows Teresa scored 131 points her freshman yr (18 games), 192 points her Soph. yr (14 games), 434 points her Jr. Yr (22 games, and 342 points her Sr. yr (21 games). These total 75 games played and 1,099 points scored.

Believe the current 1000 point scorer list includes the following: Erica Hayes (Zinn), Heather Hayes (Braden), Tori Dixon, Teresa Boring, Michaela Puckett, Cassi Bentley (played 2 yrs at Logan HS and 2 @ VCHS), Morgan Bentley, Tegan Bartoe and now Cameron Zinn.

How in the world did the Vinton County courier screw that up? 1500 points compared to 1099. Something doesn’t add up. I guess the only person that really knows how many points she really has would be Teresa Boring.
