Thanks for the compliments. I’m flattered.transplant wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 9:13 pm Oh yeah forgot Miller was the coach add that to advantage 2016 team. Best coaching staff in pike county that year. Better than 85 coaches at piketon…
Perdue was a slow sophomore. Couldn’t guard.
Since Jimison and I spent about 10 months with both teams I’m pretty sure we know which team is better. 2016 won 2 games by double digits. 2022 has 15 already. Eastern Pike hit half court shot Saturday or would be 16/17.
Google Fox Chapel Pittsburgh, Waynesboro PA, Morgantown WV. Those are the types of teams this western team competed with.

It’s impossible to compare teams in different years. Different players, different times. We already established 2016 league was good. This years western team would have been 4 or 5 that year too? And yeah, sorry for the compliment, thought you were on staff at piketon then. Hahaha

I’ll Google this teams tomorrow at work when I’m bored. I’ll also compare the 2016 teams biddy record vs this years teams biddy ball years. Probably have the stats on the ymca’s website right? Haha

I’ll have to get with Nolan Crabtree for all the Y league stats. Please hold.transplant wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 9:47 pm I’ll Google this teams tomorrow at work when I’m bored. Disregard the summer if you want. All I see is the teams that were solid then are solid now.
Check those biddy records though. You will see this team had little success and have learned to win at the varsity level.

At Piketon it was often because none of them were faculty. Also, they were always trying to groom some younger guys to step into junior high positions. You can never have too much help.transplant wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 9:42 pmNot sure what it is in pike county. Them and waverly, always tons of coaches. Always trying to groom coaches, no stability? Sounds like the problem.AnkleBraces wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 10:00 pmAt Piketon it was often because none of them were faculty. You find a school that keeps good coaches in the junior high program or below and you have found a winner.transplant wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 10:16 pmAlways trying to groom coaches, no stability? But real life gets in the way.
Find me a teaching job and keep my salary and I’ll coach young kids forever.

Western’s 2016 team beats this years Western team 9/10 games easily.. the SOC 1 was elite in 2016 which explains western’s regular season record in 2016. Saying Perdue was a slow sophomore? Pretty sure Tanner Purdue scored 41 points against Portsmouth East in the district final to send Western to the regionals, but he’s a slow sophomore.. It’s hard to even take a certain someone’s opinions on this forum into consideration anymore. They make no sense. Carry on

Akia Brown, Cameron King, Cole Gilliand, Henzie, Ethan Liest, Kade Conley, Trevon Turner, Tanner Perdue, Tanner Kimbler, that’s 9 one thousand point scorers that were all in the SOC 1 at the same time in 2016.. We can’t compare different teams from different years but level of competition 5-6 years ago was much better.

Considering I coached him 3 of his 4 high school seasons and put in additional work with him daily I think I would know.Sportsfan98 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 12:05 am Western’s 2016 team beats this years Western team 9/10 games easily.. the SOC 1 was elite in 2016 which explains western’s regular season record in 2016. He was just getting healthy from torn ACL. He scored 39 and probably 15 from the foul line. I’ll ask him tonight at practice.
You guys know all though.
I’m just 44-1 my last 4 seasons sitting on the bench after Christmas. I know nothing.

1 loss? looks like you had 7 alone last year after Christmas, unless I'm reading it wrong.

Haven’t coached since like 2018 when Piketon lost to undefeated Burg in district finals.transplant wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 9:37 am 1 loss? looks like you had 7 alone last year after Christmas, unless I'm reading it wrong.
