Too many coaches don’t want it for whatever reason.
Dumb. Then they can’t manipulate things and get their easiest path I guess.

Live meetings would help zero. I’ve been in these meetings. All-league/all-district just as bad.

Would love to see a points system like football…it can be finagled a bit too but it wouldn’t be coaches voting South Webster 9th.

Agree live meetings are useless. I meant a committee to look at schedules, scores, leagues teams play in, everything and they put teams where they think. Take the coaches out of it.

I’m for that but sadly, coaches know best…..but so many don’t vote that way.

D2 coaches meet, look at schedules/results/bios and seed the D4 bracket

D3 coaches meet and do all that and seed the D2 teams

D4 coaches all meet and do all that and seed the D3 teams

Something like that would work. I like it. I’m sure coaches would still call their buddies and make deals and all that. But would be better I think.

Not sure I agree with in person being meaningless. It's a lot harder to screw someone when you are looking right at them.

Harder yes, but would still happen as it has in the past.

I remember the first year they did the online thing and I think it was the RV girls coach who put Alexander 9, when they were arguably the best team in the sectional. I think that is how it went down if I remember right. But no way that occurs if they were sitting across a table from each other. lol

Different sport but first year we did online (2-3 years before basketball I think) my school was seeded last by several coaches and Adena was seeded first….the ignorant coaches just submitted them in alphabetical order straight from the drop down box. I don’t believe there are any varsity basketball coaches anywhere near that ignorant to actually how good the other district teams are.

I've never thought of it like that but that's not a bad idea. I don't see it ever happening, but I do think it could possibly work.

As the Webster delegate on seops, I can’t agree more. I think the town would throw a huge fit if all of a sudden we were in the little division. Gold balls don’t mean anything

I agree, Valley and Webster are fine right where they are. Unless they were to go to 3 divisions, then id put both in a middle size group.

Interesting seeding this year. I guess records speak louder than strength of schedule, with that being said, I do not see an easy path for anybody in the bottom bracket. Top side, I see the natural events occurring and see Trimble beating Western if Western does not choke against Fed Hock. Bottom of the bracket will be a lot of fun to watch especially the third round of games with Valley vs SW and SV vs Fairfield. Do not think the seeding matters too much once you are in the 3rd round anyways, but I see both of those games being a battle with Valley and Fairfield coming out to see who goes and plays Trimble. Just my opinion and I have seen a lot of comments knocking the SOC I this year but you have to give props to the young men from Western and SV for staying focused and keeping great records to sneak in those high seedings. Are they better than those SOC II schools, probably not, but they seem to have solid squads this year so props to them.

Good Luck to all entering tourney play next week!

No disrespect to Western, Symmes Valley, or South Webster but Trimble is a different beast heck Valley is on a different level . But Trimble and Valley are the top to division 4 teams in our area. Now I completely understand anyone can win on a given night. But those to our the area best shot at a regional birth.
