What do the Bobcats have returning for the 2022-23 season?

Was the Sampson kid just a jr? What about the mcbees? Great hire for green though. Will bring a new energy to the program.

... Coach Barrick is an outstanding hire - looks like you were right about Sampson, excellent D4 size on this roster , only 2 seniors last season? ... Coach B will have them playing outstanding fundamental hoops in Franklin Furnace this coming season ... going to be good things to come for the Bobcat faithful ...

Agreed. Will be looking forward to seeing how they do.

There is no doubt this guy knows basketball. He was very successful at Burg. The concern should be why has he been non- renewed at 3 different schools (Burg, Eastern, Russell, Ky) in the past ten years if he is such a great coach? I give it 2 weeks into the pre-season before the locals are calling for his head.

Can’t speak to Russell, but he left Burg and Eastern on his own accord. Green is lucky to have him.

Coach Barrick is a big-time hire for Green. Proven winner at Burg and Eastern. He was never comfortable coaching in Kentucky-his team was targeted by officials nightly because of his resume “across the River”(watched multiple games), had a winning record, and he left a great deal of talent to his successor-which beat Ashland this year. IF parents let their kids be coached-Green will be highly competitive in SOC 1.

Theres a great statement. IF and its a big IF the parents will let their kids be coached.

That’s all we talk about on here about the Parents. I completely get all that. Where are the splineless at the top are to say enough is enough. Hire a good coach with a good resume and leave them the He@ll alone ? Answer, probably Never. Sad !

The best coaches do not listen to the noise(distractions). They just teach

100%. There was plenty of noise at Trimble when Howie was hired, and for the first few years. The more successful he was, the more noise there was. But Howie ignored it and the administration and BOE didn't react to it in knee jerk fashion either. He coached and they let him coach. Hence, the most successful coaching stint in Trimble basketball history, and it is still going on.

The biggest key in your statement is he had the support of the administration and school board. Trust me , winning means little at some of these schools. It’s whether you have people at the top who have a spine or are spinelessAttack wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 1:51 pm100%. As someone already pointed out he left Burg and Eastern on his own, can't renew someone that isn't coming back.MattyIce wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 9:33 am There is no doubt this guy knows basketball. It would be nice if you knew what you were talking about BEFORE you get on any site and make a completely false statement. He was NOT non-renewed! He left all 3 programs at his own choosing. I have known the man for many years and had a son play for him. He demands the game to be played a certain way and if you do not play that way, its simple, you sit. Best wishes coacher!MattyIce wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 9:33 am There is no doubt this guy knows basketball. He was very successful at Burg. He left on his own because he wasn’t going to be renewed. Like I said, the man knows basketball, no doubt about it, but there is obviously a chink in his armor if he is moving around so much, as of late, and ends up at Green.alabama mike wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 7:55 amIt would be nice if you knew what you were talking about BEFORE you get on any site and make a completely false statement.
