Absolutely. I won’t be the one to break anything here on preps but there are some changes occurring. I’m honestly surprised it’s not all over the place yet.

I called it Two years ago . Coach Combs leaves for Unioto and Coach Bentley the former girls coach takes over on the boys side.. Coach Bentley has twin boys already in the program. They will never even post the job opening. Vinton County is ran by the good old Boys……

Yea they will absolutely stay around the Columbus area. I wish they would come back but I just don’t see it.

If I'm half right this probably means Combs will stay AD for VC but is probably taking time away from basketball to spend it with his family. That's my honest to goodness guess at this point.

It will be interesting to see if a Beaver local will be interested or if they'll search for an outsider. I know PJ Fitch had a good run while at Eastern but didn't leave on good terms. Other than PJ no other past coaches come to mind as possible candidates but I might be overlooking someone. If Eastern was still in the SOC I the job is a lot more attractive. Playing in the SOC II and having a lack of talent (compared to past teams) the last 2 years it will take a patient coach for this one.

Whoever in Eastern School district agreed to them moving up in SOC 2 in all sports except football, should be Fired on the spot. They should be SOC1 at best.

Yeah, this feels like a decision that should be revisited by SOC/Eastern. Their non-football sports (boys and girls) have largely been noncompetitive since moving up to SOC II. SOC I schools are likely just fine with Eastern in SOC II though, so don't know if it even an option.*
